Dobut it. I have gtx560Ti with Sandy Bridge 4ghz, and I get around 40-50 fps with everything maxed (except ubersampling) at 1920*1200.

It is of course perfectly playable and is pretty much the best looking game ever.
Still, I would like 60fps. But I am not sacrificing any of that delicious graphics :-).

if i could get 40-50 i would actually be pretty stoked, that would be worth it to me if that vid card would do it, i know the rest of my system if more then adequate to do it im just gpu bound right now, and was wondering what kind of fps i could expect if i upgraded to that card (evga gtx560 ti)
If you're getting 30 from your card, you won't notice much of a difference in gameplay by getting the 560.

Personally, I think you're crazy buying a card now when the new series from nvidia and AMD are due to be released soon.

I know there's always something new around the corner, but now isn't a good time.
I've got:

AMD Phenom II X4 965 3,4 oc'ed to 3,6
Gefore GTX 570
4 GB RAM

At 1920x1080 I get around 40 fps (usually higher, sometimes it drops to 30+ fps). As far as I know, the game relies heavily on the CPU, and you get noticeably better framerates with Intel than with AMD.

I'd recommend to google for some Witcher 2 benchmarks to get a better idea of how big an improvement you can expect.

You should be getting more than an average of 40 FPS! with GTX 570, if you got Vsync disabled.

good lookin out, i had no idea a new series was about to drop, thanks for the heads up, actually after playing for several hours tonight, my fps is steady around 30-40 with sometimes hitting 50-55 in caves and towns, etc.... so i think im content with that, i was just going to buy the 560 if it was a huge increase in performance, but i think my 9800gtx+ will suffice for now
Does FPS mostly depend on what screen resolution you are running?

not mostly, but it does depend on it, along with your graphics card, graphic settings, resolution, and your cpu speed.
