Yeah, some of the users are having stuttering with single GPU. And the cross-fire users are having issues with lighting bloom peaking through textures.
So as I see it, the stuttering on AMD is probably a CD Projekt issue. The game runs much better on Nvidia and that's not a coincidence. But considering there are more DX11 AMD GPU's out there that are capable of running Witcher 2 in it's full glory, it's a travesty that CD Projekt didn't provide better support. The CFX issue is something AMD is looking into right now. It's been tweeted already by CatalystCreator.
That's one of the sad states of PC Gaming. There is so much politics and stupid crap going on between AMD and Nvidia. Games being exclusive to one during development. The worst being Epic Games where the UE3 engine was actually crippled for AMD users until AMD called them out on it publicly.
The sad part is the only group that suffers for it are the Gamers. The developers get their sack of money from Nvidia. Both AMD and Nvidia get to either have their Meant to be Played BS or Gaming Evolved nonsense plastered for marketing. It's just either the Nvidia or AMD gamer that suffers in the end.
It's sad that CD Projekt was pulled into these shenanigans also. Just hope CD Projekt resolves this issue.
riddleofsteel: I have no experience myself since my main desktop is in pieces and I will not be able to use it until Tuesday. But at forums such as Hardforum, Guru3d and even here I am reading reports that the new AMD hotfix and the 1.1 witcher 2 patch are making the game experience even worse for AMD gpu users. Normally this wouldn't really bother me, except that I have a 6970 on order. Are the AMD users here only having bad experiences or are there some success stories also? If it's all bad and true, it looks like I chose the wrong video card to buy. Thanks for any help.
