So, I just got a new computer *very excited*. And I wanted to see how the Witcher 2 would run on this so I started an install.

Unfortunately, it wants me to download a 10gb update... It won't seem to let me bypass it by simply using my activation key and it wont let me run from the witcher2.exe because it always tells me to run the launcher first, which ignores my activation key entry and updates the game.

Any workaround? I literally don't have time to try the game and wait for this update. : P

Btw, I bought the store version rather than the GOG version (well, I got it for a present anyway).

Try manually installing that patch. The retail version's vanilla version comes with DRM that's stripped out by the patch, and that one is much smaller than the 10 gig enhanced edition patch. You should also be able to run directly from the .exe after installing it. Not only will the game run better for it than it would as the vanilla version (some reports estimate up to 30% better after the DRM is gone), but it also has some added content.
Thanks, I'll try it and let you know!

Edit: It worked, thanks a million!
