So, my hardware is as follows:

Now, with these settings, I run fairly well in fullscreen, generally hovering between 23 and 30 FPS in fullscreen at 1920x1080. Mazing out the options, for Texture Memory, Shadow Quality, Number of Shadowed Lights, LOD distance, and enabling Ubersampling has me hover between 7 and 9 FPS, which is obviously fairly unplayable.

So, my questions are:

1. How well SHOULD it run on my PC? Am I doing about right?
2. What's the best way to maximize the look while retaining a passable performance?(for example, anything that doesn't affect visuals as much that really drains frame rate).
3. How can I improve performance/settings most effectively? For example, would a second Radeon 5770 in Crossfire max this game out? Would I be better served with some more RAM? Perhaps waiting for a patch on CDP's end or a new driver from AMD?

I know I should probably just jump in with High settings and be happy, because the game DOES look great with them, but it's the first game I've played that this card hasn't actually maxed out since I got it, so I thought I might as well see if I could easily/cheaply bump it up to max settings.

Hopefully the AMD and the CDPR patches will make a difference.

6950 2gb
8gb ram
30-40fps with everything on ultra, including ubersampling and other stuff.

Currently their is problems with crossfire i believe, also it is advised with AMD cards to change the AA SSAO and something else, check the witcher site, To application handled as it conflicts with the games AA or on the lines of that.

You're to run with those settings RatherDashing! Mine arn't quite as high but I prefer a smoother play through. Below is a copy and paste of another thread I've participated in, try my tip for vsync to get a smoother playing game on AMD cards.



This is my rig:

Windows 7 X64
AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black edition
AMD HD 6850 OC (overdrive)
8 GB G. Skill Ripjaw RAM

In the attached pic shows my settings.

Now Instead of putting V-sync on in the game settings, I use the program RadeonPro to force V-sync AND triple buffering. It's alot smoother and reduces mouse lag from video sync. Using the frame rate display in radeonPro (same as fraps) I get a frame rate of 31-60 with an average of 38-45 depending on the chapter. The game runs great. However I believe there is a microstutter problem in some areas, as my frame rate can be in the 40's and I'll notice a stutter in areas where there is no loading.
