I just downloaded the game from Atari and every patch i try on GOG.com (1.1,1.2.1.3, etc) all error out with the message: "Installed game version is invalid or incomplete"... My current version is 1.0.6041.43456.

GOG.com doesn't let you download patches for a game unless you bougth that game at GOG.

Do you mean you try the patches from the forum ?
At the forum there are post with links to www.thewitcher.com ...
