After installing the new patch, the game refuses to launch and I'm not getting any crashes or error pop ups. So far, I've tried launching it through Steam and manually running Launcher.exe and witcher2.exe in the installation directory. All drivers are up to date, etc.

Edit: Running the game as admin seems to have fixed this.

I didn't install 1.3 until last night and when the installation was complete,the laucncher come up, so tried it and it worked fine. To be honest, I am runnng the game as admin though.

A lot of the time this is caused by installing games to Program Files or Program Files (86), especially with Vista and Windows 7.

Use another path, like C:\Games.

There are several Steam-users here, and from what I understand, the steam forums are an awful place to ask for help (just what I've heard). With the official forum still not up, this forum has become a bit all-inclusive.
