Having a small problem that is really more of an annoyance. I owned a retail copy of Witcher 2 (I wanted physical copies of the special features) and I redeemed by backup copy so the box can go on my shelf and look pretty.

I uninstalled my retail version and just downloaded the GoG Enhanced Edition, installed, but every time I go to start the game, it tells me I need to insert the Witcher 2 CD into my disc drive. I click continue, usually twice, and the game boots up fine.

It's a minor annoyance like I stated above, but anyone know how I can stop this from popping up?

Ahh the wonderful things left behind by DRM! Can't remember what drm retail Witcher 2 used but your best bet is to look up how to properly uninstall that. Personally I would just up with the slight annoyance, probably not worth uninstalling the drm as it could effect other games that use it (though if you have no others get rid of that crap!)

According to wikipedia, the DRM was SecuRom. I'll let you find how to properly clean it.

Edit: Official removal tool

I don't believe the official tool manages to remove it all. I might be wrong but I believe it leaves behind quite a few traces. I know for sure some guides exist to fully remove it.

I booted it up a few minutes ago and the popup didn't appear. Not sure what happened, but I'm sure the good vibes you guys sent made it disappear :P

Thanks for the suggestions.
