Didn't see that one before. I've written terribly long post about cast suggestions on EN official forum in April/May I think, so if it's gonna be back with recent history, I will happily drop it here. See some glimpses of it on google, so the worst scenerio will be copying piece by piece...
Anyway, wow, as for me being cinema-admirer, movie-geek and aspiring filmmaker, such topics always arouse enthusiasm.
I remain sceptic about possibility of making such movie. It would be almost a miracle to find someone who would take such risk. Production like this needs enormous budget, which is hardly possible for movie with such content, unfortunately. Truth is, recently new Conan was made and apart from its quality (we will see), reported budget is pretty high. Could they really provide decent TW's adaptation? I reckon, they lack the faith in audiences. Watching last few years box-office figures, it's pretty obvious that people seek some more intelligent entertainment. They're tired of gimmicks like 3D. I believe someone could finally give it a chance, give it a go, but wouldn't it be related to some butchering, screw-up?
It would be pretty awesome to see just some mini-series based on short stories. I guess we can't expect groundbreaking visuals on the other hand... Not that it matters as much as climate or actors, but when I think about CGI in polish adaptation...
Another option is David Fincher shooting a fantasy-noir. :) Regarding budget, it would be still troublesome - as far as I know, his "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" costed $100 million and the most of it wasn't even made in US, so... Perfectionist's fate. :) I would totally entrust him it.
