I have spent all of today trying to get things straight with the Enhanced Edition. I have the GOG version of the game and haven't played it for about nine months. With all the recent hype, I decided I should get back into it. I really wanted the new Enhanced Edition content (or at least all the latest patches from 1.3 onwards) and, well, I was tearing my hair out. Long story short, I had about 50 errors and problems, which everybody seems to be experiencing. Well, it's almost midnight and I have decided to just uninstall the game and re-download it - the EE - from GOG.
I've kept my save files, but I was almost tempted to just let them get deleted as well and start fresh. I never got very far into the game anyway.

There's no real open-endedness or question here. I just thought I'd tell you my story. (I don't even know if any of this makes sense, I'm just getting it out there ^)

(Actually I guess I do have a question. An unrelated one, I guess. Does the EE include improved controller support for the PC? In other words, when using my 360 controller to play it, are the controls the same re-worked, refined ones as on the 360 version? I hate to sound like an @ss but third-person games with a mouse and keyboard have never clicked with me. Thanks in advance.)

I did nearly the exact same thing,uninstalling the game after the patcher seemed to go into and endless loop,then redownloading the game as the enhanced version. It managed to install,but crashes whenever I try starting it from the launcher.

Do I need to redownload it from my game shelf in GOG or my "backup copy" in order to get a working version? or wait for the newest patch?
