What and where did they advertise? I didn't notice it when I played the game.

I personally liked it. It was a funny extra and completely avoidable. If you remember the GoG "closing" then you'll get it.

So did I. Lauged my ass off, literally. I am now ass-less.

It was very annoying if you weren't a GoG customer and didn't know until AFTER you'd finished it what the reward was going to be. I agree with the OP - this type of promotion shouldn't be in-game.
Love to see some of you post good things about the Witcher 2 rather than constantly pick on a small and irrelevant elements of it... so much for supporting the developers :(

"Constantly?"
Nice of you to make snap judgements.
It's called feedback.

I don't necessarily disagree with you, but there were several months of scathing threads around here after release before things finally settled down, so "constantly" is more appropriate a word than you probably realize.

So, you are saying that if I search for all your posts I will find a mixture of positive and negative... right?

Possibly, but that really isn't a good excuse for criticising a couple of people, both new to the forums, for giving negative feedback about one particular subject. It wasn't "this game sux", or "I can't play the game and it's the devs fault", it was specific feedback about one feature of the game. If someone disagrees and thinks this should be done again in future games, fine, everyone's welcome to an opinion, and Ebon-Hawk's is just as valid as mine. But criticising the fact that someone dares to make a negative comment is immature.

@Ebon-Hawk. So if you didn't search first, why did you say I (or we if you include the OP) were constantly criticising?
Go ahead and search.

I appreciate your comments though please note the following...
I did search, the format of my comments was designed to present a rhetoric question.

On the other hand I can only assume you did not do the same before you noted that we are apparently immature for criticising anyone who dares to make negative comments... after all both 227 and I have provided a numerous positive AND negative comments on the subject of Witcher 2... or was that aimed at someone else? :)

If you searched, then perhaps you could advise what posts I made that justifed the accusation of "constantly" picking on small and irrelevant elements of the game? Does forum etiquette demand that when we tell people how to workround a problem we don't acknowledge that the problem exists? Or do you consider that modding is an implicit criticism of the game? Clearly something jumped out at you, but I don't know what, so maybe you can tell me? It's called "feedback". It helps people to improve.

No, I didn't search your posts, but then I also didn't accuse you of constantly being inflammatory towards newcomers to this forum.

And yes, it was aimed at you, exclusively. Please don't bring 227 into this.
Could you please take your personal differences to some chat room/instant messenger or at least use personal messages to trade your insults? The rostrum is no place for that.
