After trying to reinstall from original release images, and failing to patch beyond 1.2 I redowlloaded the entire bunch of Witcher 2 install files.

Everything was working grand until the notice to download the 2.1 patch... it proceeded to update and then crashed. Now I cannot even run the launcher... it just crashes, I don't even get the little window.

For some reason at the end of updating to 2.1 the patcher decided right then and there to install a .net 4 installation. What fucking for I have no idea but now the bloody thing wont launch at all.

Windows 7 64.

.NET 4 has to be installed because somebody who didn't think about these things updated Visual C++ to 2010, which requires .NET 4.
