Rhystic_One: With all due respect to GOG.com, Project etc. etc.
This is getting ridiculous, as without the sound this game is simply unplayable, not to mention the framerate issues that many players are experiencing. We need a fix ASAP.

murgolicious: use the fix i posted, that should get you going until they release an official fix for it.
That is not a fix, it's a workaround. No doubt it works, but I'm not willing to uninstall a fundamental component just for a game.

This isn't the first game that Logitech's G35 drivers broke, and it won't be the last. Unfortunately, evicting the G35 drivers is a workaround that G35 users are stuck with until Logitech gets on the ball and writes drivers that won't break other people's software.

Asus Xonar DX (Running latest 'Unified' drivers)

From within the Xonar DX Audio Center, Expand the main EQ screen, click on the Main button and set your Audio Channel to 6 Channels and Analog Out to 5.1 Speakers. Make sure you do not have 7.1 Virtual Speaker Shifter enabled.

Works perfectly now!
Same here, Logitech G35, no in-game sound.
I got no sound on my xonar d1 also but solved it quicly, you gotta low no. of channels from 8 to 6 (or less) and it should work.
Sampling quality doesn't matter.

might be the case with that logitec sound as well.

/blah
didn't saw previous post about it, sry :P

Not helpful to Logitech G35 owners, we cannot change the number of channels.

Zoidberg: Damn, I'm bummed.

Logitech better fix this soon.

Any link to an existing thread on Logitech's forums?
It's not Logitech as I have a 7.1 surround sound x-fi speaker (not headset). I don't get any sound from the game if I have it in 7.1 mode (although 5.1 or lower will work) so it's not the headset but the game itself.

Hi,

The same problem here with sound, with the same solution of "my2nads"

My Creative X-Fi Platinum Fatal1ty works here always in 7.1 In this configuration, the game have no sound, turn to 5.1 and the sound works great, weird :P
Hopefully this is something that can be patched and fixed in game. If it's up to Logitech to fix we're shafted.

I'm sure it can be fixed in game...the devs of Hydrophobia: Prophecy had problems with G35s and other USB headsets and they managed to fix it. I mean, well, just because one game did it doesn't mean they all can be fixed that way but it..seems likely? :D

Thanks.

Well, if even a regular sound card doesn't work in 7.1, it must be a game's bug.

Let's wait and see.

Not playing this game till I get polish voicing anyway...

The fix would be with the audio source output coding within the game. They would probably make an if/then code statement to force any 7.1 output devices to do a force output of 5.1 (or whatever is the highest channel within the game). But I go to school for acting, not computer programming, so I could be wrong.
