Dear All:

I am using the Steam version and have tried, on numerous occasions, to get the 1.3 patch to properly install. Unfortunately, whenever I attempt to launch the game the patcher automatically runs and, upon reaching the end of the patching process, there is following Critical Error message: Internal Error at C:\Users\******\AppData\Local\Tempat21C5.tmp

Although the launcher then appears -- and I can run the game -- I do not think the game version is 1.3 and I am not able to play the game. I get this message whether I attempt to run the Witcher 2.exe or try to directly apply the patch.

Moreover, I have installed the game when Steam had administrator privileges and also installed when UAC was disabled completely. The same result followed both times.

I have not tried to verify the game cache.

I was hoping that someone might have some information that might provide a remedy to the error message I am receiving.

Thank you, in advance, for any help you might be able to provide.

Regards,
I have not had the issue. The Sticky thread in this forum states:

*Internal error at *chinese characters* C:/Users/[Username]/AppData/Local/Temp/pat5b0A.tmp, line 76069016 or similar OR Installer does not install launcher.exe

- Install the game outside Program Files directory

Tried that ? Just a wild guess.
Thank you for the heads up; changing the install program fixed the problem. I apologize for not spotting this before posting but when I tried to do a search I got a scheduled server maintenance message.

Thanks again for the fix; I really do appreciate it.

Regards,
