Hi I have problem launching the game. Any help is appreciated.

It says

witcher 2.exe- Bad image

C:\windows\system32\d3dx9_39.dll is either not designed to run on WIndows or it contains an error. Try installing the game again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support.

Thanks.

I'm having this same problem too and still haven't found an answer yet. I've reinstalled the game, but that did nothing. Does anyone know the solution to this error? Please!!

Maybe try reinstalling DirectX? See FAQ here: http://www.thewitcher.com/support/index.html#t10
Hello guys. I am having this problem now too. I have played the game on my system before with no problem, but I recently got a pretty nasty virus that I had to squash, so I think maybe it was responsible for corrupting the file in question. I have reinstalled DirectX 11, found and reinstalled DirectX 9.0c (took some effort to find an installer that wouldn't tell me I already had a newer version of DirectX installed). I also updated my video drivers. I even tried downloading and replacing the individual .dll file in question. I tried reinstalling the game. I tried re-downloading the game from Gog and installing it again. I have gotten this error despite doing all of these. The .dll file is there, I am not sure why the Witcher 2 is having problems communicating with it. Could it be a problem with my registry?

Any suggestions? I recently beat the first game and am ready to move on to the second. Beyond reinstalling Windows, though, I don't know what to do.

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.

I downloaded a registry repair tool and ran it, but it did not solve the problem.
