I have tried for ages to open the gate near the beginning of the game, No cursor comes up to say it is a clickable object.

I have searched forums and a few others have also had this issue. But none of the potential solutions like making sure all the enemies are dead in the courtyard and trying to reload an earlier save point. I have also tried using a controller instead but it was a no go.

I played this game when it came out and never had this issue, never completed it and decided to play with the new Enhanced Edition, but so far it has been a bust as I cannot progress :(

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I saw your other post, hm that is odd. Have you tried older saves.

I lost my older saves hence why I never completed it. But I started the game with the Enhanced Edition, and have tried many earlier saves, I can get to that point quite fast now that I've played it a dozen times, but it still won't work :(

I will try starting a new game and choosing this part of the prologue first and see if it works then.

Anyone else having this problem should just start the game again and choose option 3 first, It might have just been a glitch at the beginning of the level whiles loading, but at least by choosing option 3 you save yourself going through the other two multiple times if the 3rd doesn't work again.

Thanks for posting a fix. Its annoying when people run into problems and they fix it but never post a solution.

If you feel like it you should post this in the Witcher 2 fourms as a bug.
