I just reinstalled version 1.0. At least I think that is what I have again. On my shelf I only have the new patch update to 2.0. The 2.0 updater cannot detect my game.

The game (as installed) will not autopatch and instead attempts to reconnect every 10 seconds... the support page says to:

IF YOU JUST BOUGHT THE WITCHER 2 ON GOG.com:

1) Download and install The Witcher 2 from GOG.com - this way you have version 1.0.
2) Go to "My Account", download the 1.0 -> 1.3 patch from the "additional content" and install it.
3) And there you go, you can now enjoy the latest version of the awesome RPG!

However I don't have the 1.0->1.3 patch, I have the 2.0 update only.

Naturally none of the patches from thewitcher.com will work and I can't rememebr where I found the update before (I am assuming it was in my bookshelf).

The only solution I can think to try is to re-download the game from GoG, in the hopes it is an updated version... but this would take many many hours so I would prefer to just get the correct patch.

Suggestions?

People told me that the gog version comes with the 2.0 installed. In steam I think is the same.

Right... but I have the original version from day 1. I know I could re-download, but I really wanted to avoid doing that. Thank you though. I do appreciate the confirmation that the bookshelf has been updated to 2.0.
Here you have all 1.3 patches:

http://www.thewitcher.com/patch1-3/

And here the 1.35 hotfix:

http://www.thewitcher.com/patch1-35/

(And I'd go straight for 1.35 anyway)

And then the 2.0:

Thanks for the links. Unfortunately those all say incorrect game version when I try to apply. I need the original 1.1 gog patch I think, but all links I've found lead to 404 errors.
So I completely uninstalled and deleted the game. I re-downloaded it from GoG. According to various posts, this is supposed to be version 2.0. Mine started by asking if I wanted to patch then after I said yes, "cannot connect." The game won't start now either so I cannot even play it with the earlier content.

Thoughts?
I just wanted to thank everyone for the support. It turns out that you can't trust the downloader to pick the correct installation file. The 2.0 version is installed in a sub-folder and naturally if you install as an administrator from there all is well.

Cheers.
