Please don't rail on me for this dumb question. But I'm lost now that I've updated to EE and the game is broken. What do I need to do? I got my backup copy since I bought it retail. Should I just uninstall/reinstall the entire game? I don't want to lose my save files or progress. If I copy them to another folder and reinstall and then copy the saves back, will I be able to pickup where I left off?

I was able to download some "patcher" but when I run it it says I don't have the game installed. Trust me, I do. Any help would be appreciated.

Before doing that, try this:

Go into the folder where you downloaded the EE files and find the Download folder. In there should be a TWEE2_Patch.exe file (the extension may not show, depending on your computer's file settings). Run that file and see if it works.
That's what I'm doing and it says I don't have the game installed. I'm not sure what to do then.

Bear with me here:

I had problems with the corrupt file issue, so I got a corrupt file message. I followed instructions in This Post, except I didn't do step 5. Instead I tried starting the game through the launcher. I then got the error you're getting. Going into the Download folder and starting the TW2EE_Patch.exe directly (and running it as admin, since I'm using Win7) started the patching process and it ran right through with no issues.
