ok.. so i played part 1, most of the way through., i got to the part where the city is burning, but i ended up reformating and not saving the game file,, figured i would just start over.. But now i picked up part 2, and having played most of part 1, already, im kinda interested in playing something new for a bit.

with out telling me what.. Are there spoilers, that playing part 2, with out finishing 1? Or is part 2, something more like.. Well the events of part 1 are long past, and now your onto a new quest?

basically im trying to figure out if i should spend the next ohh week or soo finishing part 1.. so i don't get the ending ruined?

thanks : )
The second one is one month after the first. You meet part of the characters but nothing really important linked to the story apart from the end.
If you don't feel like playing again from the beginning, you may just read/watch a let's play to get the epilogue info and play the witcher 2.
Or you may just play the Witcher 2 directly and miss only few references to what occured in the first one.
Just watch the final boss fight and the ending cinematic from TW1. Then you'll be up to date imo.

edit: oh yeah and right about where you stopped you'll get the chance to save/kill Ada, but it has no importance whatsoever in TW2

You don't need it, but It would be a shame that you don't finish the game if you get that far.

If you get where the city is burning you have played 4/5 of the game.
If you wanna play the other 1/5, may be someone could give you a savegame at that point of the game.

Why don't you tell us a little of the choices you take.
ahh thats ok.. I started a new playthrough, and decided to finish it before i play W2, I wanna try a different build to some degree, and help triss instead.. :)

besides i know a lot more about alchemy this time around so its a bit easier anyway. Now if i can only play this one,, after my buying storm with holiday sales..
IMHO The last chapter of The Witcher 1 is too good to pass on.
There's some moments that really bring the bring everything you've witnessed together, I wouldn't want to miss out on that :)

You could take a look at this:

And adjust your choices accordingly ^_^
