Just a quick question. I ordered my copy via retail, primarily due to my horrid internet connection which is shared with others, making downloads more of a headache. I remembered seeing in photos and descriptions that the standard retail package came with a coin as well, but oddly, nothing is in my box.

Did the package change, or was this some retailer specific deal? I am in the US and purchased a standard NA copy.

I am not terribly fussed, just confused and curious is all.

Kurina, just going from memory here, but I thought the coin was only in the CE. I'll check around to see what I can find out.

There's a Premium Edition (I guess it's kind of a limited first edition) with all that stuff in it and a standard DVD box version. Both priced equally. Looks like your retailer sent you the standard version.

Yeah, turns out the Premium Edition is supposed to have the coin, but that's the 'standard' edition. i.e. there are only two retail editions: Premium (which is the 'standard edition') and Collector's. At least, that's what I've understood.

Don't buy retail, it has crap DRM which reduces performance and increases load times.

Buy directly from GoG.

Many people - myself included - want the physical goodies from the retail version. Ironically, I skipped getting it retail due to the DRM (this was even before the performance issues were reported).

From what I know the Premium Edition is the standard edition as long as it lasts. Once that 'First Edition' is sold, there's supposed to be regular DVD boxes with no goodies. Why the OP got one of those already, I do not know.

Wondered about this myself when I started pawing through the contents of my own retail edition. Though in my case it wasn't so much me wondering "where's my cursed coin?" so much as me wondering why that very high quality envelope with the red "wax seal" on it was so far off balance.

Turns out it was the coin that they'd tucked away into one of the corners. The coin isn't very large; fairly easy to overlook. Incidentally, my copy had the "Hog named Helselt" pamphlet. Someone out there don't much like good ol' Henselt, do they?

Anyway, I found that envelope in the Bonus material DVD case.

There are actually two coins. The tiny cursed coin with a square and CE comes with Temerian Oren with Foltest's head.

I think I lost the cursed coin already. :(

Well now I feel like a complete idiot. Sure enough, it was in there. It is definitely easy to miss! I had taken out the paper inside the envelope before, even glanced inside the envelope itself, but I missed it entirely. I checked again after seeing your post, and sure enough.
