I'm having a weird issue where the intro cinematic is not very smooth upon starting the game. Yet if I watch the cinematic through the extras menu it's totally smooth. This wasn't an issue before patch 3.1.

Any ideas on what the problem could be?

If the problem exists in all cinematics, then you have a hardware issue, like "need more power, cap'tn". Lower your config values or upgrade your hardware.

If the problem exists in just that one, then you most likely have a corrupted save. Go back to a save earlier and play through, if it bothers you that much.
At one point it was stuttering for me. I cleaned up the save files and kept only the last few and it went smoothly after that. So you may want to try deleting or moving most of your saves if you haven't.
I haven't deleted any save games since launch. The save file was over a gig. I deleted all but my two recent dark play through saves. Unfortunately the problem is still there.

It's certainly not a hardware issue.

As i said before, this wasn't a issue before 3.1 and 3.2 did not fix it.

EDIT:
It's a bit hard to describe how the video plays. Choppy or stuttering might not be the right words. The sound is completely fine during the video. It''s very easy to notice when the camera pans left or right and the animation on the characters are not as smooth. Jerky might be a better word. None of those issues exist if I watch the same video through the extras menu.

I know this is really nit picky of me and I'm having no other issues with the game itself. I'm just curious as to what the issue might be.

It may be worth a re-install just to see, could be a file corrupted someplace.

Does it sound like your HDD is reading a lot while the cinematic is playing? If so, could be worth a defrag.

If you like, to save you a full re-install, I'll happily upload the file for you to download and copy over yours?

I'm fairly sure the file is intro.usm, if I'm wrong, someone let me know, would save the time of uploading a 230mb file.
