So with the release of 2.0, i wanted to update to that. I downloaded the Patch, and it installs or whatever, it gets to the end, and gets frozen on "Finishing installation..." and dosent finish, it sat there for hours yesterday, not finishing. So i go to where it says it unpacked, and when i try 2.0, it says "game version is invalid or incomplete"

Before that, i tried the "patcher" in my witcher 2 folder, and after scanning, it says the game is up to date.

So i wonder, perhaps i am not fully updated to 1.3 or whatever. I try to find what game version i have in the readme file, cant see it there. All i remember patching of TW2 was just as it came out. The one where you had to redownlad like the whole game.

So i figure i have 1.1, so i download 1.2, try to install and it immediately shuts down and says "game version is invalid or incomplete" this happens with version 1.2, 1.3 and 1.1 that i got in a torrent. I tried to torrent the patch because i could not find it on the GOG site (as i have the GOG version of TW2, not steam or retail). no luck.

Please help, either i am still on 1.0 and i have to install all patches (cant find the first patch on gog.com, and i need that before i install the ones i got from the witcher site), or something else is going wrong.

I had the same problem. My only solution was to download the game (10.2 GB) from GOG again. The new install files that they have uploaded are the fully patched versions. It's not an ideal solution, but at least the game's updated and running.
