Nope. I need that stuff, I use it. Plus like a hundred other features I'm not willing to re-learn (if available at all). My whole extended memory is in here and without it I'm lost. ;)
I only mentioned the F11 fullscreen, because the sample picture was taken with it, btw. Fullscreen on an almost square screen, that really is worlds away from a widescreen with a fully functional browser. I was just making sure they are aware that not all people see it the same way. Nobody thought about that with the aspect ratios before game launch, did they?
That's what I use my bookmarks toolbar for (the one I blackened out on the picture, because it's private ;) ), but I guess everyone has their own system. I could not have 55 weblinks on my desktop (but I do on my toolbar). And so I'm not willing to sacrifice that for a bigger screen.

It's full screen because that's how you show web page design - as a whole. It would be unprofessional to show it with bookmarks and taskbar around, even though that would be more true to what it actually looks like in browser. But yeah, they should at least get rid of that banner, I am so adblocking it if they don't D: I only mentioned the F11 fullscreen, because the sample picture was taken with it, btw. Okay, Chrome is nice and not too different from FF, except that top bar takes up a lot less space (there are three "lines" instead of five). I found all of my FF extensions available for it, too, so switching went smoothly. I just like suggesting it when I can because it's a great browser :P

Sorry, tried it once, didn't like it and first impressions are hard to overcome. The 4th line is that which I could have integrated in the 1st, but don't want to for accessability. And the 5th line is actually the Windows window, not the browser.
And I'm really not about finding a new home for data that I collected over many years - even if they had the exact same reminder add-on I use, I would never transfer all that stuff. I would loose all account data, I'd have nightmares about something like that (always have my profile backed up!). Not to mention days or even weeks of work to find the features I already have and not having a guarantee that I'll get everything I want. What's wrong about Firefox anyway? Why did you feel the need to switch? I'd get your adertising if I'd use IE... ;)
But... another browser would not change anything about a website or forum...
And you just can't use a square screen and fullscreen and believe that this works for everyone. But I don't know why I have to justify myself for trying to be helpful. We'll just wait and see how it turns out in the end and if they leave it as it is on that picture, I bet there will be other voices.

I thought I'd throw in the suggestion since we were talking about screen space, I guess it's not an issue if you have a large monitor. And I completely understand if you use some information-heavy extensions. The only one I had was Xmarks and it works both ways, so... But... another browser would not change anything about a website or forum...
I had terrible problems with Firefox on my old computer (I upgraded earlier this year), it was taking up too much memory, crashing at random, it was awful. And I've been their supporter from day one. It was probably just my old computer being, well, old, but I never bothered switching back in fear of it going crazy on me again.
EDIT: Anyway, since the header does seem too big, maybe it would look better without it? I removed it using AdBlock in screenshot below v

Yep, FF does tend to eat lots of memory - especially when one tends to have too many tabs open all the time and uses loads of add-ons *g*. But as long as I can spare it, I don't think too much about it. ;) EDIT: Anyway, since the header does seem too big, maybe it would look better without it? Your version withouth the pretty Triss on top is a lot better. Like I said, how they did it in the old forum, with a very nice Geralt pic in the background and you would scroll over it, that was nice.

Has anyone managed to figure out what the categories to the left are in that picture?
I can see "Off-Topic" and "Fan Art" on the bottom, "General Discussion" as the second one, and the third through sixth categories from the top seem to all start with the same word.
EDIT: Fourth category and the sixth category seem to both say "Tech Support."
Also thinking that the third and fifth categories both say "Plot and quests discussion," but I'm not sure on that one.
Ha! Figured it out. The symbols that the third through sixth categories start with are TW2 and TW1. There's Witcher 2 Tech Support, Witcher 1 Tech Support, and whatever the other thing is (I'm sticking with Plot and quests) has entries for both games, too.
The first category seems to start with "Introductions," but I'm not certain about that.

It looks to me like the first one ended with 'Kaer Morhen' and the first word looks more like 'International' to me - although I have no idea what kind of category 'International Kaer Morhen' is supposed to be. The last one missing (third from bottom) is 'Djinni - fan-made mods'. Djinni is more of a guess, but I'm quite sure about the rest.

Just thought of something. In another thread, Scampy has had a meltdwon, not unlike my three year old....... :-)
If he has truly left, does that mean that we will each be out $50 when the forums are posted in July, as per this?

scampywiak: August. It will happen in August.
No, it will happen in July:)

After looking at it for awhile longer, I'm going to go with "Introduce Your Witcher." That's the only thing I can think of that makes any sense whatsoever, though it does look remarkably like "Kaer Morhen." Still, most forums have some kind of subforum for new people, and it's always near the top. Can't wait to see how right or wrong that is :)

It's been--what, over two months already? And still no official Witcher forum besides the usual patronizing craps of "technical difficulties" that may or may not be true but is getting more and more irrelevant by the day. Insulting, even, like some people said.
Don't get me wrong. I ADORE and admire CDPR--especially over their no-DRM stand. Couldn't get enough applause for that. Seriously.
But the thing I'm worried the most is this Disqus board BS they're putting on. They REALLY should shut it down before it gets any worse than it already has. That's the very least they should be doing--especially with the REAL forum being nonexistence. After all, there's still this GoG forum to cover the bases temporarily. As much as equally bad that sounds, it's still a whole lot better then the current alternative with Disqus.
I have warned them. The clock's ticking on so many fronts. And I AM worried.

They said last week of July, so you really can't be worried that they haven't got a forum up yet when we're not yet in that last week. When we get to July 30th, then it's time to panic :)
I do agree about the Disqus garbage. It's ugly and seems to attract nothing but hateful, spiteful comments. They probably only keep it up to avoid appearing as though they're cutting their losses and abandoning people to their problems, though.

I really hope it would be true. That means this very week, right? Can't wait and feel so excited seeing their snapshot of the planned forum. Hopefully the sub-contractor really delivers this time, or I swear I'm going burn their building myself--the sub-con's, I mean. 227: I do agree about the Disqus garbage. I get that. Really, I do. But the consequences are proven to be more disastrous than my suggested alternative. Especially with the availability of GoG forum here. CDPR should have just driven those people here completely and strengthen their presence, albeit temporarily. Much, much safer in the long run that way. Let's not forget the ultimate fact that CDPR is actually an independent company, and a small one at that. Thus, maintaining positive image is absolutely critical. Hhh.... enough with my rants. Hopefully this week will truly be the day, and that it's not too late for the fans to forgive them.
