And before you say its in the box, i know about the small one that came with the game. I just like having a more detailed guide to see if I miss anything, see all possible romance angles on my 2nd or 3rd playthrough, check out all the possible weapons, recipies, etc. that I can make or buy. Also its nice to have them for artwork, more detailed character making guides, etc. I just find it nice to add to my witcher collection and all other games that I like (which aren't much these days). Of course the game guide has to be well made, that's a given.
that guide is meant to be...a guide, not a walkthrough.

Wait a while, someone will make a very detailed walkthrough. Also the Witcher Wiki.
There's is a Polish guide, but don't know if there's a translated version.

Are you talking about a book in retail stores? From the details in your post I assume you didn't buy the digital downloadable version from GOG but a retail box version instead. I'm with you when you say that you buy them for the art too. Ever since I was youngin' I used to buy the strategy guides if only for the art and if I got stuck in the game, I had a handy little book to help!

I haven't seen the retail strategy in stores either, but GOG released a guide in PDF format as well as a 200 page artbook in PDF as well so I'm quite content with those!

Yes, I am talking about a book in retail stores. I also did buy the box version from Amazon. If the book is well done, its a nice addition to my witcher 2 collection. Wish that i could also buy the PDF artbook as a DLC from the GOG store.
making a guide for this game would be a nightmare. so many branches that you might not be sure which decision leads to which outcome.
The guide that came with the GOG version is a pretty detailed walkthrough and they seem to do a good job at explaining the directions that your decisions will take you. It's not all-encompassing, though, and it does have a few mistakes - probably due to translation.
what TC is referring to is the strategy/game guides from companies like Prima who usually come out with a comprehensive guide, that lists all the items in the game strategies, builds etc.

and it is not hard to do one for TW2 since the game is not that long and there aren't that many things in it.
if they can do guides for Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas which has tons more stuff i don't see how hard it would be to do one for TW2
I would imagine Prima is doing one, but it hasn't been released yet. They did with the Witcher...guide came out a couple of months after the game if memory serves correctly.

no games typically come with a guide do they?

don't they sell seperately at stores for like $20 or something rediculous
gamepressure.com had a heck of a guide for TW1. I printed it out and put it in a binder. It was like 289 pages. They didn't miss a thing.
- The Prima guide fro TW1 was a download only walkthorugh, no starts, weapons, art, etc.

- Also I am not looking for a free guide, i want to buy one, preferably a well made one.

- As for the gamepressure comment, that was my defacto guide when playing TW1. I do think they will have one up in a few weeks or so, but what i am saying is that it would be nice if I could buy a book to add to my TW2 collection.
why dont you use witcher wiki? Not only it helps you with quests, it gives reference back on characters, evens in witcher 1
