Story:Cool Boarders 2 features four stock riders and six stock tracks. Many more are available as you progress through the game or unlock them with codes or secrets.
This installment of the Cool Boarders series features a split screen "Vs" mode, where two human players can race each other. It also features a one person race option, to race against up to six CPU controlled players.
The tracks all vary in length and challenge level. There is also a half pipe, Boardpark level and a Trick Master Run with continuous jumps and a tutorial to teach you all the moves. The move list in Cool Boarders 2 is quite extensive, including standard board grabs and various flips and spins. The graphic technology is primarily based on 3D polygonal models. The prologue begins with the player driving in a Nissan Skyline R34 in Olympic City (though the racing scenes are actually in Bayview), the setting of NFS:UG. He then receives a race challenge from a rather ominous personality who offers him a spot on his crew, but "won't take 'no' for an answer." The player races off — despite Samantha's warnings — only to be ambushed by a mysterious driver in a rage that totals his Skyline. Virtua Tennis 4Virtua Tennis 4 is an action-oriented tennis game which focuses on fast matches instead of being a realistic simulation. The heart of the game is the career mode in which the player creates his own avatar. The goal is simple: reaching the top within four seasons. Here the player has various possibilities to improve his tennis player, e.g. by playing training sessions (arcade mini game like picking up eggs) to improve the statistics, buying new clothes with prize money or playing matches. The menu for this mode is made up like a board game.
Other playing odes are single matches, party mode (playing the mentioned mini games) or arcade (winning as many matches in a row as possible). Here players can choose between 19 licensed athletes (plus at release already retired athletes in the PlayStation 3 version). The standard controls for returning the ball consist of choosing the wished move, e.g. a spin, and the basic direction. When a special bar is filled up, players can unleash an especially powerful hit.
MotorStorm: Arctic EdgeMotorstorm: Arctic Edge is an arcade racer pitting you against 8 other racers, human or AI in a competition to win in The Festival. The backdrop for the game is Alaska where you have to race on icy tracks in mountainous regions. Beside the other racers you have to take into account avalanches, broken ice bridges and a lot of other dangers on the route to victory.
The game is very fast-paced and it sees you racing around in cars, snowmobiles and trucks. You can select different wheels, exhausts, spoilers and more for your vehicles.
