Zaxares: That would be the best case scenario, of course, and if they do release a PC version, then my fears will be groundless. I'm just worried that, in this day and age when publishers seem to be returning to the "platform exclusive" wars, that Larian may strike a deal to have BG3 exclusive to Stadia, if only for a period of time.
The PC is the big deal for Larian--BG3 will be a 100% modern, Larian-engine game--it's not going to run Infinity-engine mods for BG 1/2 or EE versions, and that sort of thing...;) By comparison to the PC release, the Stadia release is strictly small potatoes. Larian likes the idea of Stadia since anyone running any OS (at least in theory, as so far Stadia is being released for Windows/OS X/Android OS and iOS--no Linux release mentioned yet) can *stream* the game through Stadia--which will help Larian and other devs keep the lid on development costs since the Windows version, for instance, could be streamed to the other OSes Stadia supports easily. But the fact is that nobody knows whether Stadia will succeed or fail--it remains to be seen. The base model of Stadia won't become available until sometime in 2020--no dates have been specified as of yet.
