Maybe stop assuming then and ask for a clarification?
It looks like they might've updated the models too along with the lighting, probably why they're charging 10 bucks. I still need to beat it while it's still on Game Pass, but as fun as it can be, it's a slog on the highest difficulty.

And while I'm critiquing the game, I'd like to add that I think the reason a lot of people find it to be disappointing is that it's really streamlined and downscaled compared to its spiritual predecessor. A game constrained to superficial mimicry if you will. Maybe the sequel will be better in that regard.

And it was always advertised as such beforehand. People becoming disappointed because of a hype of their own making is their own damn fault.

"Oh man, it's a game by Tim & Leonard and Obsidian! Wowee! All my favorite Fallout things combined!"
Often forgetting that all those Fallout games were made by nearly different crews. Even the New Vegas staff was largely purged after Obsidian had to downscale.

Though my personal umbrages are essentially a flawed stat/roleplaying system and a lack of variety in gameplay. Oh, and a very strict save system on the highest difficulty. It's one thing if I can't save anywhere, it's another that I'm essentially relying on level load checkpoints between long stretches. Far Cry 2 at least put safehouses dotted around the map semi-frequently.

Other than that, I think it's the closest thing a roleplaying game is to FEAR. Not as visceral, but the gunplay is tight and a league better than the likes of Fallout 4.

EDIT: The guns shoot straight and human enemies die in a few hits and I can dodge and go into slow motion and I can do drugs to give me arena shooter speed. Only real problem is the big spongey enemies turn the game into Serious Sam.

Well, I don't own the bundle, but bought the components separatly. Let's just hope that GOG recognizes that anyway.

We have so little information there's no clarification you can offer, that's the point.

Cusith: The game was published by Private Division so the game likely is owned by them, so the update seemingly done by Virtuos Games was probably nothing to do with MS. The IP is MSs what with them working on a sequel.

Swedrami: Besserwisser was referring to Pentiment, which I think was the first Obsidian-developed title after being gobbled up by Microsoft. Hence the doubt for a release on GoG any time soon or in the foreseeable future.
Which is a fair point and I'm as much a half-glass empty type as the other guy when it comes to Microsoft officially partnering with GoG, but who knows - maybe one day there's going to be the Microsoft-equivalent of this announcement no one even would have imagined to see.

Obsidian still retaining the last word in regards to releasing Pentiment and future titles like Avowed on GoG could also be the case, and it's just the usual where a title like Pentiment is just too recent and still sells enough over on the other platform for Obsidian to consider GoG as an additional sales venue.
Ha yeah I see it now I'd screwed up my adblockers stuff and it killed all of the quotes on the forum. Fun.

As to anything by Obsidian showing up here in the future, yeah its a sad state of affairs but most likely a long way in the future is the best case scenario

The information is right there on the store page, not sure why you're expecting more than that.

Improved graphics and level cap. If that's worth it to you then great, if not pass.

Improved how? Where? What kind of level cap change? What other balancing to go with that? What other tweak and surprises?

Being skeptical is one thing, but writing it off seems silly when we know so little. And acting like it's a "ripoff" when we know next to nothing about the quality and breadth of the improvements is just pure internet anger addiction.

No thanks, the base game was just ok.

He was replying to your point about its scope. They made it very clear it was an independent project without a huge budget and thus was much smaller in scale than New Vegas. I think they actually over-delivered on that, if anything.
I for my part enjoyed the game a lot. I liked both humor and gameplay. It was not all too long, so I could complete it in a manageable amount of time.

The bad reviews always had "New Vegas" somewhere in them, which I only played for a short while, somehow I didn't get into it.

Is it a ripoff? I wouldn't know, I played it for what it is and that was something I enjoyed a lot.
Outer Worlds was positive suprirse to me. Recommended. I liked the combat and those link attacks, whatver they were called.

I wish Cyberpunk was more streamlined, the ui, gameplay, inventory etc, its just horrible. Cyberpunk is perfect example why gaming companies go for "streamline" design. Cyberpunk doesnt flow.

CDPR should sell/add new UI at least for Expansion. They could put everything behind f1-10? That should work for PC anyway. U need to craft f2, you need to call F4, F8 if u want to work on your build, you need to check mission f10 etc. Add rhythm to it.

The (serious) critiques didn't come because it was a ripoff, but rather because the game was announced as a spiritual successor to New Vegas from the creators of the original Fallout on top of that, so expectations were KINDA high to say the least, and... well, while the game is serviceable considering the small budget and scope they were going for, it dissapointed a lot of people nevertheless.
I do think the skills are terribly bland, the writing isn't there at all and the itemization seems like an afterthought :P
