I was a huge fan of CD Projekt RED for 13+ years (since the first Witcher game) and I liked the GOG's policy, despite preferring other platforms for their functionality. I really didn't want to bring this up, but the GOG/CDPR actions and attitude left me no choice.

The Cyberpunk 2077 is raw, unpolished and bugged as hell. The more I play — the more broken quests, "silent" dialogues and other technical issues I get. I was sending bug reports and suggestions to the CDPR support since release, but I haven't got any replies. Zero. Not even automatic ones, so I don't know if they even check them or no. There are no answers, there are no patches, there is no roadmap. The day-one patch arrived on GOG later than on other platforms and after that only two useless "hotfixes" were released (it didn't fix anything for me). No real patches for a month, no new hotfixes for weeks. The Russian localization is unbelievably bad and Galaxy client still resetting the language preferences every time I launch the game. (There is no such problem on other stores/platforms, as far as I know). And the client still crashes ten times per day.

I've heard a lot of complaints about optimization and performance, but at least I don't have any significant problems on that front despite some minor fps drops and object popping. Though, It's worth mention, that I've built my PC especially for Cyberpunk 2077 and my TV supports only 1080p resolution at 60fps which is likely the main reason I’ve got an ok performance.

GOG/CDPR stuff keep ignoring all problems with Cyberpunk and Galaxy launcher, but this isn't the only shitstorm they prefer to turn a blind eye for. Some of you may know that they decided to cancel the long-awaited release of an indie game Devotion on GOG to please some Chinese bots. They've slaughtered the game without any reasons (the little placeholder with the hurtless joke was completely removed from the game years ago). And the main problem in this situation that GOG staff answered on Twitter bot messages within a few hours by fully cancelling the promised release not only for China but for the rest of the world too. At the same time, they keep ignoring thousands of their own customers for weeks. They’ve just silently deleted the announce and cancellation posts on Twitter without any official statement/explanation/comment, ignoring all questions and support tickets about their decision. Just check the GOG’s Community Wishlist — it is the most requested game of December and January. This is just another sign that GOG/CDPR changed their policy from being pro-customer to being pro-money. It isn't the first call, but it can be the last one for many loyal customers like me. Censorship can't be tolerated. Especially, political censorship — I'm sick of this shit in my everyday life.

So, after all of this, I’ve got really disappointed. I tend to buy way more games than I have time to play. And I prefer playing on another platform, but I used to buy second copies of the games I like on GOG only because I liked it's policy, customer-oriented service and wanted to support my favourite devs. But this isn't the thing anymore. It all was a lie. I haven't even played 99% of the games I've bought on GOG, so, I've tried to request a refund for them. And they refused.

GOG support has finally answered on my ticket. First of all, they've completely ignored all my questions about Devotion. Secondly, they've refused to refund anything (not a single game from 340+ in my library!) They've also refused to comment on the bugs and estimated release of next patch for Cyberpunk 2077. (They've told me to contact "CDPR official channels" that haven't answered to my support tickets in a month). Finally, they've refused to partly refund my physical copy of Cyberpunk 2077 so I could buy the Steam version instead (I don't want to be forced to buy future addons on GOG and use their broken Galaxy client anymore). They've told me that I should refund my physical collector's edition where I've bought it. But it isn't possible to refund the game after you've opened the box and used the activation code. Well, I will be waiting for heavily discounted GOTY/Director's Cut/Enhanced edition on other platforms then.

I was supporting and advertising GOG for years. I've bought all CDPR games on release, including collector's editions and versions for different platforms (not to mention artbooks, figurines and tons of other merch). I didn't expect that these companies’ management will start to wipe their feet on its most loyal customers. I’ve missed the moment when they turned into EA/Activision siblings, but as far as history shows — it's the one-way road in this industry.

This is the last game I've bought on GOG. In the current state, I can't recommend it to anyone, nor I can recommend this platform anymore. I'm disgusted by GOG/CDPR recent actions and their new priorities. I'm disappointed by the way they've decided to handle situations around failed Cyberpunk 2077 launch and Devotion censorship. Their reaction (the lack of it, to be precise) on customers' feedback is a disgrace and I regret supporting these companies so much...

Are you intellectually exceptional? How can you, living in Russia, not know how authorities (not necessarily elected authorities) raid businesses which legally provide services and sell goods said authorities don't like? The constant regulatory harassment, threats to b2b customers and suppliers, drug raids, vandal attacks, etc.

Only four real nations in the world recognize Taiwan (three in Central and one on South America). Not the US, not Poland. If the US can't take on China for the sake of the whole of Taiwan, why do you think a Polish company not only should do so but is able to do so at all, for the sake of a few Taiwanese people?

This oppressive government of yours (of mine, too) enabled you to build a high-end PC for a specific game in the middle of the pandemic. If the regime makes you this rich, you should be thankful. Or, you know, reject your filthy lucre.

The "not downloaded or played" requirement has been relaxed recently. The time limit remains.

What did you expect? Either they repeat what Winnie forced them to say publicly, or they say they hate Winnie to a possible Chinese spy or a simpleton who'd publicize their reply all over the interwebs, landing them on the chopping board once again.

I'm shocked they won't refund your purchases from 2012. How dare they?

You should, you didn't buy it on GOG and they don't owe you shit.

I hope at least a large part of that time was spent enjoyably, and that you didn't unnecessarily torture yourself with an unenjoyable game for quite that many hours?
How hard the mighty has fallen...

My biggest problem with all of this is that people are praising a mediocre game as the new normal (the game does have problems that far exceeds minor bugs/glitches), the fact that CDPR did lie several times, and that GOG are almost refusing to refund (like Sony), which is most likely a tactic to make people less likely to refund anything. Getting in touch with support is like getting in contact with an animal (definitely like a cat), and if you won't go with wallet-funds you are essentially being punished and could have to wait several weeks/months.

GOG have become like a credit card company; big on words but terrible on support and general hospitality. "We are swamped, sorry" is a fine excuse for side-stepping any accountability and not use money towards hiring more people to handle the "swamped" support (and possibly the broken forum). I certainly won't even bother since I've almost lost the appetite to shop here, so the hefty sum I paid for CyberPunk 2077 is going to be a bitter apple to swallow regardless...

I don't think we're going to see the same exodus California have experienced (apparently), but I certainly understand why.

Of all the foul mouth nonsensical you spew out sometimes, this is by far the only thing that I can agree with 100% ;)

Hi. I'm kinda of a lurker here. But that suits up pretty much the current state of CDPR and GOG.
I've a big library on Steam and even started to migrate over to GoG. But it didnt work out.

I'm not gonna comment lot on Cyberpunk. It's just the wrong kind of game for me. I dont hate it, but it baffles me how poor the release is. I remember more quality from CDPR. Also their were a lot of news about crunch.
Looks like CDPR abondon their roots and just goes AAA.

Devotion is probably not my kind of game either. So if GoG had released it, it wont see an additional sale from my direction on this game. But with this action they do lose the trust of their fans.
Why would someone buy from GoG and not Steam? Because they want to support something bigger, like a uncensored DRM free shop. But CDPR kinda destroy it. They already have DRM games on GoG. They neglect offline installers, not being updated to same version as GoG Galaxy release.

THIS! I hate to see it.
Isnt CDPR a public traded company? So they have to do what investors want them to do - maximizing profit.
Valve on the other hand is still a private company. Sure, they do a lot stuff wrong and upset their customers. But they still listen to them somewhat. They showed multiple times to revert decisions because they listen to "gamers"... oh wait, sorry. Not "gamers", but gamers. True gamers. Even if they lost sales from it.

I may still buy some oldies not available anywhere else. But for anything else? Probably not.
CDPR said, they dont care about niche games. Now they destroy their own niche.

I wanted to buy Stellaris DLCs. AFAIK Stellaris was the last GoG Connect game. But it was bugged, I wasnt able to get the base game. They canceled it prematurely, so I never got it on GoG. Even with bigger discount on GoG, its cheaper (and probably safer) for em to buy the DLCs on Steam.

Bummer.

I haven't said that I don't like the game. I've said the opposite quite a few times in fact. I'm waiting for the patches, fixes, addons and I'm ready to pay for the DLCs. The problem is, that the game is raw, unpolished and filled with game-breaking bugs. It has so much potential, but it's broken and unfinished. And 'till this point, it doesn't look like devs a hurrying to fix at least most common and easy problems. And there is zero feedback from support.

About 186 hours. I wasn't closing the app when I get off the PC, because the client resets language preferences at every launch. That's at least 1/3 of my "playtime". And I've used to load old save files killing tens of hours of progress just to complete some bugged out quests. Secondly, I've enjoyed the main story, the characters' arcs and normal sidequests before the remaining ones bugged out and became unfinishable. At the rest of the time, I was waiting for patches and decided to complete other activities, collect/craft cult weaponry and unlock some achievements. And 90% of those activities are generic and uninspiring as f..k (fixers' orders, NCPD stuff etc). This was another half of the "playtime" and it sucked. As you can see, I've given up on those Assassin's Creed style missions and haven't launched the game for a few days. I'm tired of waiting, I'm tired of support silence and I'm sick of this effortless "content".

Yeah, it can be the same for me in future, but there aren't many "exclusive" old games that I want to play. At least right now. I've bought the ones I was interested in... But I've played most of them on consoles anyway since it was pretty lame, low effort re-releases with compatibility issues and without any fixes/improvements.

There is no possible way they can fix the botched Cyberpunk game in a matter of weeks or months. Really to fix that would take a year or more at least, if it's ever going to be done at all.

So that makes it indeterminate as to whether or not they are "ignoring" Cyberpunk issues, because even if they weren't ignoring them, then there still wouldn't be any real fixes for them forthcoming for them any time in the near and/or foreseeable future.

Although they are most definitely ignoring the issue of DRM in Cyberpunk, which they could easily fix in less than a day, if they had the will to do so, which they clearly don't.

And definitely you are also right that they are ignoring the issue of Devotion. I'm not happy they are, but no way are they going to break their radio silence about that through a random user's support ticket, when they've been publicly ducking the issue for a month despite massive pressure to address it from most GOG customers and also from several of the MSM's gaming journalists.

Some bugs can be fixed in a matter of hours or even minutes. Like not spawning item or missing NPC/not triggered call. At least support can explain how to open the console and spawn the item or restart quest manually. But support is silent since release.

Well, no one forces you to read or discuss it.

But I guess I have the right to create my first topic on this forum in 9 years to express my opinion.

Especially if it's going to be the last one.
