Ghorpm: THIS

I'm sorry if somebody has already posted it, I don't have time to read the whole thread ;)
Fantastic post earlier in the thread with all the detailed crap companies have pulled, and this is basically a summary. We have ourselves to blame.
*Looks for something not mentioned yet.*

Escort missions for dumb NPCs with suicidal tendencies...
I remember a game that deleted important files for your operating system if you uninstalled it. The name of the game is Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor. And it's also quite evil to bundle your game with Denuvo especially towards people who don't have the best PCs.

Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor did same thing me too!

Installing non-updated version of UFO Aftershock and StarForge to computer, caused OS corruption. This happened to me in 2006. Re-installing OS is annoying sometimes.

Ricky_Bobby: 2) Related to the above: insert a large amount of generic repetive missions that are not that fun;
- certain BioWare games
- certain Ubisoft games: Far Cry 2- 4, Watchdogs ...
You should have added Bethesda RPGs this category too. Fallout 4 mission structure is messy and repetitive!

My godchild already sold his Ps4 copy of Fallout 4 because of repetitive missions!

Something new for the list

Take-Two have shut down the biggest and most popular GTA 5 modding tool.
Speculation is that its all about GTA 6 which has just been announced with Take-Two being worried about people taking all the new features of GTA 6 and finding a way to add them to GTA 5 via mods.

Not going to be buying anything owned by Take-Two anytime soon after what they did.

Meanwhile companies like Zenimax/ID Software/Bethesda, Valve, Epic and others actively support modding.
Designing games based on what they can say on the back of the boxes.
"OK, we finished the first prototype of the game. We have 3 classes, 8 monster types and 10 weapons. Now we need funds to turn it into a real game."
"What?! No! Make tweaked versions of each class to get 9 or 10. Change the colors of the monsters and increase their HP to get 30+ monsters. And make minor tweaks to the weapons with minor gameplay impact to get 50+ weapons. Here, have $50 and get your kid to make 10 maps for it. Remember that it must last at least 30 hours to finish. The artist already sent me the generic box art last week and I'm writing the back of the box this afternoon. We'll ship the game next week. Good work you guys!"
Topware with its new Two Worlds II expansion Call of the Tenebrae:

start with a six year old game
remove cheat console commands from game
make said cheats purchasable with microtransactions
profit (or not)

That is detestable. Even when these are just cheat codes and takes nothing from a game, it feels dirty to have that "marketplace" button there and stains the game.

Topware saw this thread and thought "hold my beer".
