You mean parents who want to play with their kids those games? In some cases also to refresh their own memories from the childhood? Willing to spend more $ than usual as they would pretend they don't buy those games for themselves? NO WAY!

That "not sure if it's our core audience"-comment dismayed me a little as well. If the game is any good - as these apparently are - such questions should be an afterthought instead of the deciding factor in which games make it to this site and which don't. I wouldn't want to think that the onslaught of platformers we had last year (which has thankfully died down in the past months) was purely due to the fact that the gog guys believe that platformers are in line with their core audience, while other indie projects (some point-&-clicks were brought up in the forum) get rejected for that same reason.
Long story short: If they are released here, I'd consider buying them.

Night Dive recently started a tumblr page, and their first post explains why some of their games are on one platform, but not another. It's a short read, but can help provide a bit more understanding as to why the HE games aren't on GOG.

This is a really difficult topic for us because we want the games available through as many portals as possible. Sometimes the licensor has issues with a particular distributor, it's rare but it does happen, and sometimes it's the distributor that has reservations on the type of game, and/or the suggested price of the game.
We're doing our best to get the Humongous titles on GOG. We follow the forum posts, and we receive a lot of messages on Facebook, Twitter, and email requesting DRM free releases, and we'll keep trying to bring them to you.

I hope that you, GOG, and Tommo can work out some good bundle deals, 2-3 games for 9.99 each.

GOG made a post on their Facebook page today advertising the new release Chronology, but they also posed this question:
"What are your other picks when it comes to gaming with the little ones?"
If you use Facebook, this could be an apt opportunity re-emphasize our hope to see the HE games come to GOG.

I fondly remember playing through some of the Putt Putt games with my niece when she was but a wee one.
