Never liked clients. For multiplayer features I still seek games with the LAN option, those are easy to hook up to a vpn and play online.

I don't think it's available for Linux yet, so not me. But I don't have any interest for it either.
Might want to multiplayer at some point, but that's it.

Tried it once but found it useless. Perhaps if they add cloud saving i will try it again.

Nope, not using it right now. It doesn't really offer me anything particular I'm looking for. I might give it another look when it comes out of beta and most issues with it are resolved.

I use it to download games, its also great for auto updating games. I exit out of it afterwards as it slows down my pc booting process alot while it loads my large library.

I haven't used it yet, but only because I don't like half-baked things. I'm really eager to try it out once it's out of beta.

Well... for starters all the people in the world who don't have a GOG account...

For people who does not need GOG Galaxy all you have to do is make a new folder so you can put all the Game Installers in there.

That's what I do.

GOG Galaxy imo has always been about GOG trying to get into online multiplayer gaming scene.

I'm not a fan of clients at all, but I gave Galaxy a try a few weeks ago.

- got an error message during installation (see screenshot below) but still installed successfully

- crashed three times in the first 20 minutes, once with a BSOD (the first BSOD I got on Win7 in years)

- hasn't crashed anymore once I enabled preview updates; probably just a coincidence, but interesting (for me) nonetheless

- doesn't offer anything that's actually useful for me; I only play single-player games, so maybe I'd get more use out of it if I played multiplayer games

- slow to start up, sluggish and inconvenient one-tab-only interface; using Firefox or any other modern browser is infinitely more convenient for browsing the store, forums, etc.

- uses resources excessively when downloading (huh?) and installing games (90%+ CPU); downloading a game via browser or GOG Downloader and installing it manually doesn't do that, and is also faster

- can't launch Neverwinter Nights Diamond without the game crashing at startup; launching it via desktop icon works perfectly fine, though

In all honesty, Galaxy isn't bad per se, but - for me - also not useful at all. I hope that changes in the future when it becomes faster and better designed, though.

Not using it now, and no plans to do so in the future. Which, as far as I'm concerned, is its best feature: choice.

Might take a peek in the future, once it becomes a full release (whatever that means). If there's a compelling reason to use its multiplayer features - such as, getting Running With Rifles on gOg - then that will likely be the thing that lures me in. For now, everything I need to accomplish with the games can be done simply, quickly, and easily, without requiring an intermediary piece of software.

I used it a few times. I plan to use it more in the future when it is finished. However, that is still mainly only for multiplayer/community features. So I'm glad we have a choice. I really wish we would go back to the days of old and let us host our own servers, so we don't lose multiplayer if one of these clients disappear.

I'm not and I won't use it when it comes out of beta. I don't game on clients. A shame it watered down the community here so much, but I assume it's opening up games that I otherwise wouldn't choose to buy. So I guess I'm all for it - I can always find another community somewhere - as long as I can continue to browser download and then play offline only.

According to GOG over a million people...

Galaxy doesn't rummage or collect anything. The new standalone installers are designed to function with Galaxy and include Galaxy files during installation so that Galaxy can detect them IF Galaxy is installed. This is a convenience factor for those who use standalone installers as well as Galaxy.

This is a simple case of the end user to understanding what is actually happening... your privacy is not be attacked at all.

And here I thought you actually liked some of us budejovice, I can guarantee that you won't find a better community elsewhere despite the warts and all. ;)
