agogfan: I own both the CD version and GOG version of Divine Divinity, and I've yet to play it as I don't know which is ultimately the better version to play. Maybe I'll play the CD version if I want to play a ranged warrior, and play the GOG version for all other builds.
I can't remember the differences between the two as I only owned one version. Save often in that game though! Obvious spoiler alert but a list of the major bugs is here.

Thanks, I'll have a look.
I tried one affected game on linux instead of windows. There was no startup lag and changing out the galaxy dll for goldberg made the game crash. It seeming the startup lag might just be on windows versions.

Good to know (though also somehow unsurprising).

I meant playing in windows. I installed windows version to linux via Lutris then ran the exe. Game is Chasm the Rift.

Once you disable Steam... there will be not a single Final Fantasy on PC anymore, thats for sure. A issue i once again was noticing because i unfortunately love JRPGs and GOG totally fails to get any of them for whatever reason.

It's weird we have Square Enix here but not the Japanese games like Final Fantasy for some reason even though we have the Japanese games from Sega and Capcom here... and some Final Fantasy games are already DRM-free on the other store. It would be nice if asians finally got to play Final Fantasy XIII on PC with English audio if it released on GOG :)

I remember getting Final Fantasy XIII on PS3 12 years ago but never felt like playing it for some reason so i returned it to the store and in 2025 i now feel like playing it because of the shiny Frutiger Aero aesthetic lol.

Thread is needing a new title. Steam is differently abled!
it needs to use a different move for the following rounds... wait, wrong game.

1. Deals were made with SE Europe, which had autonomy from SE Japan in hindsight

2. Capcom likely was testing the waters and DD1 likely didn't meet expectations here

3. Sega probably was a minimum guarantee that's also didn't meet financial expectations, otherwise Sega would've released more games here
