johnnygoging: it's not that lucas was a shallow business man. he was just a better business man than director.
And still A New Hope is the best of the Star Wars movies. I'd say he used to be more a director than a business man once, and with time that started changing, and Star Wars started going downhill. Return of the Jedi is by no means a bad movie, but it's true that it's starting to show some of what would eventually give us the prequels shit.

johnnygoging: jar jar wasn't as bad as people make him out to be.
He was. He just wasn't nearly the worst thing about the prequels, and that's the really scary thing.

When compared with child-Anakin, JarJar was soothing and cool.

and in fact, it was even so much that he was such a talent businessman, because why did Lucasarts have so many problems for so long? it was just that lucas had a very prominent fiscal prudence streak. a lot of americans pick this up. or used to anyway. I don't know whatever. anyway

I don't think ROTJ was bad. now people just wanna lucas all over lucas.

jar jar wasn't as bad as people make him out to be.
Problem with Jar Jar is over exposure. Waaaay too much of him. I still think The Phantom Menace is a very good movie despite the issues.
Bleh. I hope I'm wrong but I don't trust JJ Abrams. Possibly the most overrated filmmaker working right now.

Then I guess you will appreciate this alternate reality version of the upcoming Star Wars where everyone loved Jar Jar in the Episode I. :P

So even in this alternate reality I see that Jar Jar can't replace Chewbacca. Shows you can never mess with a wookie.
Just watched the new trailer. It's nice to be excited about anything Star Wars for the first time since the first minute of Phantom Menace in the theaters.

Well unless you switch his hair gel with hair removal cream.

Even if you do that (must be having a deathwish though), the hair removal cream will never touch his scalp. He has been called an angry walking carpet for a reason, you know.

lol the image in my head is great.
Two more observations about the trailer:

1. Is it just me, or does the black guy (sorry, I'm avoiding everything other than posters and trailers, so I don't know new character's names) looks in almost every shot like he woke up after some heavy drinking last night, and has no idea what the fuck is going on or where he is? "Was that... Harrison Ford? Where the fuck am I? Am I in Star Wars?"

2.The villain looks and sounds somewhat lame. The mask looks just a little bland, but it might work in the movie, but the voice really bothers me. It sounds like bad Vader wannabe. Although maybe that fits, looks like that's exactly who he is :D

Do you have any idea what armor rating Wookiees have? If I remember one of the pen&paper SW RPGs correctly, a fucking lightsaber would bounce right off that fur.

It's called 'Action Movie Face', made famous in other large budget movies by the likes of Tom Cruise, Leo Dicaprio, Christian Bale, and Will Smith. Look confused, astonished, crank up the set fans to get that air blowing, and for crying out loud will someone please get Mr. Damon another latte?

Apparently the Vader wanna be is his thing. He looks at Lord Vader as his influence.
