morolf: Vampire the masquerade: Bloodlines.

I'm really not interested in vampires, but supposedly it's a good rpg, so why not?
It's a MASTERPIECE RPG :) ehehe

And believe me, even if the theme is "vampires" the universe is muuuuch more than that. And you can see the "vampires" as humans, with their politics, schemes, games, etc.

The vampire society is there as a superhuman face of our own Human Race. And it's brilliantly written.

As for the atmosphere, it's superb.
I've spent about $4, but thanks to Connect, I've been able to swap some old Steam keys around via trade and have thus far added 15 games total.
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines
Worms: Armageddon

I'm thinking about getting KotR 1&2. On one hand they're great games and one of my favourites. On the other hand I completed them few times, so I don't know if there's any sense in buying them, especially when I'm on a tight budget.

I have spent exactly $0,00 for NOTHING. :D
Timeshift

BOTH Victor Vran Expansions

Cayne: Deluxe Content

Crypt of the Necrodancer Prequel (in Development)

Outlast 2

Of those, all had been discounted, with the single exception of Crypt of the Necrodancer. I also grabbed a copy of Vampire Bloodlines to giveaway (completed), since it is one of my most beloved games ever...

I might be tempted to buy 1 or 2 more series of games, since they are discounted (and they offer great deals), like Unreal games or Hotline Miami ones, but i am not very sure over them, as i can't see me playing them... At least anytime soon!

I have Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines in my Steam library, I keep meaning to play it some day but seem to always find something else to play. It sure does seem to be a popular game this sale, guess I should look at playing it sooner rather than later.

I just completed for the first time last week and it is brilliant. You're denying yourself a unique gaming experience by holding off...

Just picked up Vampire: The Masquerade Redemption for 69p in the sale! I know it's supposed to be quite different from bloodlines but I'm looking forward to playing none the less.

Don't forget to apply the unofficial patch though. You'll probably find links in the according forums.

What does the patch do?

Depends which one you go with. As with many old games, there are still bugs left after the last official patch. The 'True Patch' only fixes what was there originally and left unfixed. Others restore content and/or add content.

It basically finishes the game since it was released in a completely unfinished version full of bugs, kinda like Gothic 3 but even worse.
Wesp5 has been working on his patch for over 10 years, it is highly recommended to install it. It fixes most bugs and glitches, has game balancing and even restores content that was planned but never finished.
You can find it on Patches-Scrolls

Isn't it supposed to be pre-patched though? In the library it shows version number 1.2 (UP 9.7 Basic), so it already has the newest unofficial patch included, although it's the basic version, without altered and restored content.

On Steam or on GOG? Frankly, I have no idea since I have the game from DotEmu, but I patched it at the time, and I thought I remembered reading complaints about the Steam version that it wouldn't run well without the unofficial patch or something. My memory might deceive me though.

Leroux:
Oh, didn't saw that trentonlf was talking about Steam version, I don't know about that one. GOG version is pre-patched.
Finally going to put my hands on Inquisitor, a game that I found while searching for Diablo clones and that really appeal me with its aesthetics.

Also several games from Double Fine and Deponia series among others :D
