Edward_Carnby: Maybe a browser cache issue ?
For example - I never store my cookies or other info that browser keep in cache.

Try clean browser local storage (localstorage.clear() ) if you want to dig this issue further.
Didn't help *sad face*

It's supper annoying, but I have no patience to look further into it right now.
Is it just me or emails from GOG again are marked as spam in gmail? I just noticed I had 2 normal mails who went in the spam folders and earlier today there was a promotion mail with NSFW content which came normally in the inbox but all the images where hidden with notice "This message might be suspicious or spam" which was unusual. Seems like something triggered after that...
Has anybody else experienced this?

When I click on the "GOG.com" logo in the upper left corner of the front page, I get shown different "News" on the bottom of the page, than when I click on the "refresh" button of my browser or press either [STRG + R] or [F5].

In the first case, I get shown (now): [Release: The Talos Principle 2] + [Coming soon: Band of Crusaders] + [Release: Arsene Lupin - Once a Thief].

In the second case(s), I get shown: [Release: Arsene Lupin - Once a Thief] + [Early Access: Priest Simulator] + [Release: Drova - Forsaken Kin].

Edit: looks like both ways now result in the same "News".

So, for some reason, it takes GOG roughly 30 minutes, to align the various ways, in which the front page can get shown "anew".

I just noticed (once again), that - when I create a thread - that thread disappears from the main forum's page for 10 minutes.

Now - I can still access it via my browsers history, but it is not visible in the forum.
Not before the clock has run down 10 minutes, that is.

Again - this is not the first time, I noticed this.
It seems, that this 10 minute delay is deliberately set.

Maybe an "anti-spam" measure?

That's probably the result of caching. A refresh isn't a full refresh, and with the data loaded via script, you need a hard refresh (Ctrl+F5) for that to also reload.

While replying to The Talos Principle 2 release thread, I had experienced the very same issue.

To me, my reply had been present (while refreshing the thread, without closing the tab), but, on my phone, and a separate browser, the post had only been publicly-visible after 10 or 11 minutes had passed.

If it is a preventative measure to limit the creation of posts generated by automated 'users', I wonder how effective it is (as in, have any such posts been successfully 'caught'?).
A new "problem" with the new release "Killing Time: Resurrected".
Of the three links on the store's front page, only two work.

If I click on the link in the "Highlights" carousel, it works as intended (= brings me to the game's store page).
If I click on the link in the "New releases" column, it works as intended (= brings me to the game's store page).

But if I click on the link in the "News" at the bottom of the page, it calls up the store's front page again, instead of taking me to the release thread.

Edit (42 minutes later): looks like someone in the GOG HQ saw my post and fixed the issue...the third link ("News" section) now also works.
Thanks to the responsible blue!

Hm,...I will have to remember that [CTRL + F5]. Thanks!

I usually don't create new threads like these "one-to-three-posts-per-minute" spam bots, that we saw here in the past and (for obvious reasons) I also don't want to try it, only to check if it would somehow prevent me from posting.

I also really see this work only, IF there is someone (forum moderator) around, who can delete the spam posts, before they're made visible - and who can also invoke further counter measures against the spammer.
But that's just my layman understanding of these things, of course.

Just tried this with the "Coming soon" thread for "Darkest Dungeon II" - doesn't work.

The thread appeared in the general discussion, but after I decided against doing the first post in it (to make it "visible") and refreshing the page, instead - it was gone again.

As a matter of fact: the "coming soon" was also announced in the "Highlights" carousel...and is now also gone (after I pressed [CTRL+F5]).

Edit: as you can see - I can still access that thread via my browser's history (attachment).

Edit 2: yet - at the same time - the thread is invisible in the forum (attachment 2).

Edit 3: well, at least it's back in the carousel (on the store's main page).

BreOl72:
Yeah, doubt it'd work on the forums, which are old server-side code that likely feeds the actual HTML to the browser.
What Ctrl+F5 does is clear the relevant cache and therefore also refresh the external sources, the tags with the "src" attribute in the code. For example, if you have a page that loads the style from a .css, data from various .js files and displays a bunch of pictures and just hit F5, depending on settings the browser may reload the page code itself but assume that those stylesheets, scripts and pictures remained the same, so instead of also requesting all of them again from the server it'll render the page based on the cached versions, not reflecting any changes possibly made, so someone doing a regular refresh might see an older version of the page than someone who just visits it for the first time at the same moment. With Ctrl+F5, the browser will request everything again.

Going by now (at least) two instances, I think there may have been something changed in regard to how unread replies are handled?

I just experienced it for the second (?) time, that the purple dot did not disappear, after I simply opened a thread with an unread reply in a new tab and then closed that tab again - without visiting said thread.

Here's what I usually do: I am on the GD's first page, I open several threads (each in their own tab), and I close those tabs again (without visiting the threads), then refresh the first page of the GD - and the purple dot is gone.

Nice and effective. And until recently, it worked as described.

But as written in the beginning, I now had it in (at least) two cases, where this procedure didn't work anymore.
Instead, I had to actually enter the thread with the unread reply in it - and only then, would the dot disappear.

If that should actually be a new develeopment and not just another hiccup on GOG.com, I have to ask: why?
To prevent unread replies from accidentally getting lost?

That could also be a browser setting that defers the loading of background (=not yet visited) tabs to save system memory.

Indeed. If the page doesn't actually load, including the script that would send the message that it has been read, then as far as the server's concerned, it wasn't, so see if you updated your browser or changed some setting.

But if GOG did change it, I'd consider it a good thing, just so that notification won't be accidentally lost, like for example the blue dot can be.
Today, it seems to be back to normal.
I just opened a thread with an unread reply in a new tab, and the purple dot disappeared from the first page of the GD, immediately after that new tab was loaded.
As it should be, imho.
