Cavalary: That's probably the result of caching.
A refresh isn't a full refresh, and with the data loaded via script, you need a hard refresh
(Ctrl+F5) for that to also reload.
Hm,...I will have to remember that [CTRL + F5]. Thanks!
BreOl72: I just noticed
(once again), that - when I create a thread - that thread disappears from the main forum's page for 10 minutes.
Now - I can still access it via my browsers history, but it is not visible in the forum.
Not before the clock has run down 10 minutes, that is.
Again - this is not the first time, I noticed this.
It seems, that this 10 minute delay is deliberately set.
Maybe an "anti-spam" measure?
Palestine: [...] I had experienced the very same issue.
[...] the post had only been publicly-visible after 10 or 11 minutes had passed.
If it is a preventative measure to limit the creation of posts generated by automated 'users', I wonder how effective it is (as in, have
any such posts been successfully 'caught'?).
I usually don't create new threads like these
"one-to-three-posts-per-minute" spam bots, that we saw here in the past and
(for obvious reasons) I also don't want to try it, only to check if it would somehow prevent me from posting.
I also really see this work only, IF there is someone
(forum moderator) around, who can delete the spam posts, before they're made visible - and who can also invoke further counter measures against the spammer.
But that's just my layman understanding of these things, of course.
