You are correct they are separate business units and in fact separate legal entities but it's broadly still the same company. For example, if you go to the GOG homepage now and look at the banner for Cyberpunk 2077, it says that "[if you buy the game from GOG] 100% percent of your money goes to CD Projekt Group." Since the company themselves put it like this (and not just on this single occasion), no wonder people also consider them basically as one and the same.

Separately, people discuss all kinds of things in all kinds of places. It's not like one can only discuss GOG on the GOG forums, and CDPR on the CDPR forums In particular, this is not a forum about GOG but for GOG users, so it's not the wrong place to discuss the game (although there is a separate message board for it here). About half of the topics on this forum right now have nothing to do with GOG anyway.

It mostly matters if you want some sort of an official response. CDPR employees will sometimes respond to posts on their forum. There is GOG staff on the GOG reddit if you want to try to elicit some official response from GOG. This forum seems to have neither, and this is one thing someone might want to consider when deciding where to post.

sure, some forms of drm might slow games down, but that's a technical matter, not a design one

But it's about the technical side.

What's better: A car you buy to keep, or a car (with the same specs) you buy, but the manufacturer can shut down remotely whenever they feel like it (what Renault did with their DRM'd e-cars)?

For me it's clear: even an otherwise inferior product that fully belongs to me is better than any fancy product that I can only use because of the goodwill of another party.

What lost trust? Cyberpunk is an awesome game, consoles always sucked and nothing wrong on pc, lots of people i know beat the game and enjoy it

Well for one thing CD Project should help GOG to fasten the refund system. It's clear that the support system here has been overwhelmed for months and the long waiting time bound to irritate people more.

Yeah, you know, I don't quite understand why there should be anything complicated at all about the refund system, or why it shouldn't be heavily automated and streamlined. I mean, anyone can refund any game they bought within 30 days, right? So, shouldn't the refund algorithm be as simple as:

IF (date of game purchase by requesting user account < 30 days)
give refund;
END

Why does a human being even need to be involved? Unless of course CDPR want to deliberately make it more burdensome than that, to discourage people from asking for refunds ...

Keep the pressure on guys, they are likely counting on us all getting distracted by Christmas; don't give them the satisfaction.

Honestly, yeah CDPR did f*up, but at least they had a reason for it. The Christmas sales...Bethesda accomplished that without the looming dollars of Christmas.

I did not buy the game. From streams I saw, it is buggy on PC, not game breaking , but annoying.

You do realize that it makes CDPR worse, right? Like, it makes Bethesda look stupid, which... yeah, they absolutely are, but CDPR? Comes off as actively malicious.

Always follow through on what you say. If you promise a finished game on launch, don't launch before you can deliver.
When the damage is done, show some humility. Nobody should wait more than a week for a refund.

The management responsible for the situation needs to take responsibility, too. Give back a yacht, retire... Just don't carry on as usual and pretend it's not your problem. It is your problem. If you keep this up, you'll run the company into the ground for good.

Well, even if I didn't pre-order this one (I don't actually do it very often for a ton of reasons, both obvious and not), it'd be a day one purchase for me because I had a lot of faith in CD Projekt and I was ready for some clunk, but I really underestimated how much clunk there would be this time around.
