If you ever wonder what people think about DRM when it's working, This is a very interesting site to follow.

This site has no cracked games, it just tracks whether they're cracked or not, and allows people to follow that progress and leave comments, and those comments are hilarious to follow sometimes

The link above is for the crackwatch for Jurassic World Evolution which is going on 20 days with no cracks so far and 180k people following the crack progress on this site alone

Tons of freeloaders with money there who are debating buying the game but waiting for a crack... disgusting. People have no moral standard anymore.
Imagine if those 180k+ people/bots/reptilian life-forms/nephilim actually made an effort to crack the game, instead of constantly posting "refreshing!"

To be fair a lot of them might be in countries where piracy is the norm, due to either a lack of copyright or generally poor conditions. Some of them are selfish little shits though, yes.

I see those. And while my view on them isn't particularly favorable, the selfish shits who are debating buying the game disgust me.

The interesting part is all the people encouraging them to hold on, to hold on to their money, wait for the crack. It's like /r/patientgamers for pirates

So how accurate is this site? I see that Diablo 3 is listed as being cracked after 5 days. I mean yeah technically you can crack the game to run around an empty world with no mobs or loot - but I certainly wouldn't consider that a successful crack. Then you've got the Witcher games with people claiming credit for cracking them - by what? Downloading them and unpacking the installer?
Well, at least CP 2077 comments gives some hope..

I'll be honest, I have zero problem with people pirating games that are not available DRM-free. Actually, I think I'd rather they pirate them and prove how useless DRM is.

Ah, this old chestnut. Tell me, where am I to get a copy of Mechwarrior 4 these days? Or before GOG, what were the chances of running across Creatures in the wild?

Pirates will and shall be, but would you prefer a game lost to the mists of time just because a company won't sell it anymore? Like Urban Assault, formerly published by Microsoft, but nowhere to be found online? The developers were bought out, which was then bought out, and are now owned by Youzu Interactive. Do you think that some company in China cares that they might own the rights to a 1998 RTS/FPS hybrid?

Do you think Microsoft cares about any game before the Xbox was a concept?
That site actually seems to have some real uses too!
I just found out that there's a crack for one game that I supported on Kickstarter. They promised DRM-free version, never delivered, maybe I should check that crack one day...

Problem is it doesn't work that way. If it was a technical paper, look it took us 3 days to break your drm, and that drm has caused 1k support tickets, and 6k lost sales, then they might look at it. As it stands all they see is lost sales and people taking their product without remuneration and so start shouting for more drm and online only or streaming etc.
It's a vicious circle, not going to end.

It to mention the incredibly broken copyright laws which allow ownership long into the future, even after death.

Allowing ip to be traded like a commodity.

Haha, it's bizarre that people crack Steam versions of games that also came out DRM-free day one.

Before you do that, might I suggest you try and reach out, inquiring on that?

Why is that bizarre? Cracking games is a sport for these warez groups. Not much challenge in cracking DRM-free games, is there?
