For my part, I'll mention my favourite sci-fi novel series: the "Mission Earth" series by L. Ron Hubbard. When not concocting creative science-fiction religions, the man was quite skilled at concocting creative science-fiction literature.

The series focuses around a pair of aliens who travel to Earth to prepare it for eventual invasion. One, a classic strong-jawed Good Guy-type is sent to ensure that the Earth doesn't self-destruct before the aliens are ready to take ownership. The other is a truly terrible (and enormously entertaining) person who is sent to Earth to stop the first, yet never seems able to get one up on him.

A superb combination of sci-fi concepts, heroism, villainy and comedy all mixed together with drug deals, smuggling, corrupt bastards and conspiracies. Highly recommended if anyone can get a hold of all 10 volumes.

My favorite sci-fi TV show is The Twilight Zone. I'm sure lots of folks here would agree that it's one of the best.

I'm not really one to hierarquize, so it's kind of difficult to say "this is my favorite", but I always had a soft spot for "Flowers for Algernon" (maybe because "The Secret of NIMH" was my favorite movie when I was a little kid)

Don't count me in, I already own both titles. I can't really tell you my favourite story, there are too many that are very good. I like the books of Stanislaw Lem, I enjoyed reading Neuromancer, I love Blade Runner and Dune and if it wouldn't be as good as it is, Firefly will always be very very high up on my list just because Rupert Murdoch butchered it.

It's impossible for me to choose one. I love the genre. Books, games, movies, series... even audio dramas.
Ender's Game was one of the first I ever read. (Not looking forward to the movie... I saw the trailer and it SUCKS!!)

But I guess my absolute favorite books are The Foundation series by Asimov (though I prefer the original trilogy)

Book: Wing Commander Freedom Flight. If you have played the game Wing Commander, it is set between Wing Commander 1, Secret Missions 2 and Wing Commander 2. The only book I've ever read, BTW.

Movie: Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan. I'm not really a trekkie, but I'm a bit of a fan of Star Trek series, and I prefer the original over the next generation.

TV show: Crusade. I liked Babylon 5, but somehow the story of Crusade seemed to be better. Too bad it got cancelled.
