I'm not really that active usually in giveaways, but now that I've bought the Triumph&Larian bundle on Humble Bundle, I've got steam keys for three Divinity games, that I already own twice (Divinity II on Steam and GOG, Beyond Divinity on Gamersgate and GOG) or thrice (Divine Divinity on Steam, Gamersgate and GOG - with popular sites in ascending order).

As I'm an atheist, all gods to me are imagined, so I won't discriminate between 'real' or imagined gods, established, bygone or fantasy religions, just tell me:

As an atheist, was it necessary to make a giveaway a religious debate?

I'm in for Beyond Divinity, but I don't like talking about religion. I think there is only one God, and that's all.

It's not my intention to make this topic into a debate, but to invite people to answer the question with a wink and a smile.

If in my naivety, I failed in that goal and the topic derails into a debate, I will try to dampen the fire.

Not in, but I think my preferred gods are a tie between Ogo (a dogon promethean trickster) and Athena (the greek non-whorish godess of intelligence and strategy, who was not above playing a few gratuitous tricks here and there either - Odysseus can testify).

Although it's a bit abusive to speak of "gods" for spiritual entities outside religious mythologies, as it doesn't always describe very well what it's about, but I suppose it's enough of a first approximation. For instance, there's a bunch of very cool loas in voodoo, but would you call them "gods" ?

I was raised in a catholic household, but am likewise an athiest.

My preferred group of gods was always the Greek pantheon. They were very much a menagerie of feral human emotions given form in the minds of the people.

In that group I think Pallas Athene was one of my favourite, for embodying physical strength and ability with the javelin, but also standing for wisdom and justice. I also liked Haphaestus because he was a God who was not a symbol of physical beauty. He earned his respect through hard work.

Yeah, the only way this could be asking for trouble more would be if this was the "Who is the worst pony giveaway" or the "Do you prefer Randism or Communism giveaway"

Rhallor from game of thrones is up there, he can actually imbue you with powers to create fire/shadow assassins and bring people back from the dead!

The Abrahamic God has some pretty nice feats too, causing floods, parting a sea, plagues, creating a planet, razing cities etc but he's generally pretty boring compared to the greek and norse pantheons. You get a veriety of personalities, intrigue, drama, meddling in mortal affairs etc

Rhallor is a very real god based in fiction which means he is tangable and can visually do/change things and have feats etc so that makes him more interesting as opposed to fictional gods based in reality where they are just stories, im not going to see zeus smiting someone with lightning or god send a plague of locusts or gabriel after someone.

I completely forgot about the gods in WH40K, I changed my mind, haha.

The chaos gods are probably my favourite, mainly because i dont know a lot about the c'tan or gork and mork etc. Also the emporor just sits ina chair and sends ships around/keeps chaos gates from opening etc. If i had to pick one i would have to go with slaanesh for the six boobed deamonettes!

As for the question,I something between agnostic and christian orthodox I guess,didn't even figure out yet :P

I want to believe there is one God,but I don't believe he's defined by us,at least not in all respects.

And on less serious tone,in Mythology I like Zeus :P
