Trilarion: I didn't know yet that you can also buy only parts of a bundle here for the same discount, effectively making this whole bundling business a bit ridiculous.
This sale there are 2 kinds of bundle. The recommended deals on the left side of the screen have a specific discount for each game (some bundles have the same discount for all games), while the community ones on the right have a bigger discount if you complete the bundle. The recommended discount is better than the normal one, so a game on a recommended bundle should be cheaper than if it wasn't in one.

So recommended is basically meaningless.

Wing Commander V: Prophecy outside of the recommended bundle is $2.99
Wing Commander V: Prophecy the day of the recommended bundle is $1.99
Is that meaningless? Your call. If you mean that buying everything of the bundle as meaningless, it's the same as the usual 60% off weekend promo.

Telika: I suggest gog to lower all the games to 10% of their price, and to offer one game of each wishlist free. Just to behold the whining of the next year, when people will have got used to it, and will consider themselves entitled to full access to the catalogue for 1 cent, during holiday sales...
mmmh, I may accept that deal, provided they promise to give me as many free kidneys as I want if I ever need one.

I really don't know how long this 'reduction fashion' will last, but I really hope the whole videogame industry will succeed in moving backward without much hurt. I personaly just buy games when I want to play them, not when there are good deals. Didn't bought anything in the wintersale, even the 'giftthings' matching my wishlist, I however bought Shadowrun shortly after release the other day.

Edit : removing some n's

So I bought Wing Commander 5 only for 66% discount or $2 within the Spacesim promo. I think this price is good enough and cannot be beaten by Steam because Steam doesn't have it at all. I will surely have some hours of fun from the game and for that the price really feels very low. Of course I don't know if ever I'll play it really.
That doesn't work for all bundles, unfortunately. I wanted to buy Carmageddon 1+2 but it changes the prices if I try to get it independently from the rest of the bundle.

On another note, I'm still unlucky when it comes to the Heroes of Might And Magic series... :( Well, we shall see what comes next...
Thanks for the changes GOG - although I missed out on the Anachronox (?) since I don't prefer to use my cc at work. and i've been busy this few days.

Anyway, just bought two games, and maybe more as days go by (preferably this weekend).

SSolomon: The 50% across the board discount seems pretty pointless. I could get a lot of games cheaper on steam just using the coupons they fill my inventory with. Then there are the bundles that try and sucker you into buying games you have zero interest in if you want a decent discount. Then the gift box that always seems to give me games I already own. Other than the Fallout give away, this GOG sale has seemed rather underwhelming. In a market of dirt cheap bundles and much deeper discounts on competing services, I am really finding it hard to find anything to buy this year. Anyone else feeling a real lack of interest this year, or am I just getting real unlucky with how everything has played out so far?
Like 99% of the games on gog aren't on steam

Actually they've been acquiring a lot of the GOG catalog, at a very rapid pace this year. Doubt Steam will grab the EA titles, though. I think that encroachment is what made GOG do the thirty day back marketing strategy. I think they started to feel the push from Steam and needed to differentiate themselves as a service platform. Competition is good for the consumer, though. So the harder the different services go after each other, the better it will be for the consumer in the end.

I got Shadow Warrior and Cognition with deep discounts today, can't complain.

Nice thing certainly that they added the reroll button on the daily deals, and even lets me see all of them. After all, if I get a game I already have, I won't buy anything that day. So it is GOG's loss, not mine. :)
I just noticed the countdown for today began at 48:00:00 Why is it a two day sale now?

I'm guessing it's because it's Christmas and GOG staff deserves the day off like everyone else.

Steam doesn't have a day off. Or maybe, you know, the sale is automated. I don't think there's a guy that waits for the timer to reach zero and then clicks on "Next", do you?

The sale is obviously automated, maybe it is some sort of mistake or glitch, or maybe it's something else. I still think it's some decision that has to do with it being Christmas.

When you click the bundles, it shows a normal timer, less than 24 hours. So I guess it's an error on the first page.
Pretty much lacking for me this year - But really find the same with GG and Steam just not that interested in whats being offered this time around.
