It's middle of the summer vacations, so the pace has slowed down a bit. Well, looking at all the promos we're running and the recent releases you can't really say it's "silly season" at GOG.com, but you know what we mean. We decided to take a more in-depth look at the games we've released, especially the ones from Electronic Arts, and chat with some of the developers that made those classics.

Thanks to our own Silencer - Vagabond - we got in touch with Tony Zurovec, the lead designer of Crusader games, and asked him some questions about these awesome classics. As we love getting you involved in pretty much everything we do, we'd like you to ask your questions about Crusader: No Remorse to Tony. We'll pick 5 most interesting ones and forward them to him to get the answers, while the authors of those questions will receive a GOG.com game of their choice(this includes the awesome The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings!). Post your questions in the comments section until end of Sunday, July 24th.
This game was such a staple from my days growing up. I remember reading the hype about it in PC Gamer, reading the review and then picking it up at my local COMPUSA store. I liked it so much that I suggested it to a friend who also bought it. He liked it so much he picked up No Regret before I did.

Many thanks for the great memories, and nostalgia as GOG has it for me to play again (I still have the original box and disks, but thank goodness for GOG and DOSBox).
do you sleep naked?
What are his future plans game developing vise ?
Here's my question:

The Captain's helmet bears a resemblance to Boba Fett. Echo Base is a clear nod to Star Wars as well, and the 1701-D on the monitors is a reference to Star Trek. Were there any other pop culture references that you planned to slide into the games, that simply had to be left on the cutting room floor?

Did you in any way feel excitement towards how this game would be received for its violent content (by possibly being controversial)? i.e in the Media or by Ratings boards :)
I will answer all the questions that don't get chosen.
Why wasn't there more NPC interaction in the games?
Where did the inspiration for the game came from?
In retrospective , then : What did you learn about "game making", "programming" and "people" from your "designing" "Crusader: No Remorse" and what further work and games did it inspire you to do and make ?
Tony, what did you have in your mind when you decided on the mature story and content for these games, and how do you feel it holds up now as a mature narrative?

Thanks for the great games. :)
Tony, you are truly god among men...

Can i mow your lawn and wash & wax your car? Please?

:)
If you had infinite resources, what kind of game would you create?

What advice would you give an aspiring games developer?
Having bought both Crusader games back in the day, one thing has always puzzled me. What made you choose the isometric perspective? Or more to the point. Why the Ultima Online engine?
Tony: Were there any "good old games" that influenced or helped inspire the gameplay in Crusader?
Tony: How was it to work with the legendary Warren Spector?
