Insecticide developer should start their own kickstarter.

OmegaX: Is it too soon too soon to think that Bulletstorm will not have a sequel? I liked it a lot and the ending was a cliffhanger.
Warhammer 40K: Space Marine should also have a sequel or I'll be dissapointed.
the Bulletstorm sequel was cancelled

The game sold around 1.5 Million but it was supposed to be "the next big thing" and they spent a shit-ton of money on advertising and marketing

It's similar to Mirror's Edge

The game sold over 2 Million copies, but why should DICE work on a sequel to that if they can just print out BF clones and make much more money?

Very good for a DS ported game. The story is interesting.

rampancy: On the topic of shooters, I was heartbroken after learning that a XIII sequel never panned out.
Here is the sequel : XIII - Lost Identity, may be not quite what was expected...

And in the spirit of games not getting sequels, I would also like to just link to this thread

Sounds like its in limbo.

Anyway, this problem is not limited to only game developers. I'm still waiting for History of the World Part 2, and Spaceballs 2: The Search for More Money.

With the trouble THQ is going trough, i wouldn't count on a Space Marine sequel. Which is sad.

I didn't like Syberia II that much. It has an ending and all, but, for me, Syberia is still very good even without it's sequel.

Syberia (the first) didn't end on a cliffhanger, but on a new positive start, and that after finishing the main story arc. You don't have to explain all to actually finish a story, but to bring a feeling of closure. The main character is drastically changed thanks to her journey, and makes a major step forward in her life. I loved this ending.

That said, I'm still waiting for Future Wars II (Les Voyageurs du Temps II), Dungeon Master Expansion Set #2, the third game in the Mortville Manor / Maupiti Island series...

I disagree. I too liked the first part than the second but I've rarely seen a cliffhanger so apparent. Granted it's still the most emotional and moving one that you can find in a game.

Here I agree wholeheartedly :D

Senteria: Often developers tease gamers about a future sequel. While it is their own choice to do so, I wish some developers would be devoted to uphold their promise.

I've been playing a couple of adventure games lately and it's frustrating when there's no closure. Especially finding out after a little research that fans have been awaiting a sequel for 5 years to a decade. I'm looking at the longest journey and syberia for example.
Of course other games I'd love to see another game of like Monkey Island and broken sword. However I doubt there will be one.
I agree. Dreamfall is amazing but desperately needs some closure. Did they really promise anything though? As in saying "fans, we promise to deliver on...?"
