I see your point; I wasn't really thinking "gender", just genetic sex. I do think there are too many "rules" on what people should be based on their sex; now that I think about it, I just think we should all call ourselves "human" - too much emphasis on our differences.

Actually, there are people who are women (Y chrome) who ARE born with penises. It's called nature. It happens. They exist. Get over it.

The presence of the Y gene is determining the sex of a person as a male. Women are / have X chromosomes only.

Hermaphroditism at birth is an extremely rare case and a biological anomaly. Normally, doctors shall and will try their best to "fix" it with surgery for medical reasons, leading the person to one of the two existing sexes / genders.

Actually, almost 2% of live human births are some form of intersex. So not common, but not "extremely rare physical anomaly cases". That's almost 1 out of ever 50 live births.
Of course, "gender" being a completely different thing.

Exactly. I don't understand the "Im upset because they are giving options to people" crowd. It's like they want to hide these other people away, like the handicapped or disabled and try to forget about them. Or even worse marginalize/de-humanize them, allowing the sort of comments coming from people who just don't know any better. It's a slippery slope to throwing them all into a gulag, or branding them as criminals or throwing them into concentration camps.

Crude words but I meant no disrespect, only that having a penis definitely makes a person a male to my perception, and unless said person go through a sex surgery for an artificial vagina with a matching female hormones treatment, I would still consider "her" as male.

Yeah, I've run into intolerant people on both sides of the political spectrum. There's people who want to make everyone live a certain way on both the left and the right. Two wrongs don't make a right, and the militant homosexual lobby can be just as weirdly frightening as the militant pro-life lobby. The defining characteristic of a wacko is their willingness to go to the extreme, not what political ideology they follow.

Gender is a social term, sex is a biological term. Having a penis makes your sex male, but you can still choose to live as a woman and have that as your gender.

At least that's what politically correct class taught me.
