A chance to help GOG improve and get a free game? Who wouldn't want to get in on that? Survey done. :)

Skunk: I don't care about getting a free copy of Realms of Arkania 1+2 (I already have the trilogy here), and I don't care about gifting it (anybody who wants a copy right now can spare five minutes of their time to get it).

timppu: I'm pretty sure there will be people who either joined GOG after the survey, or miss it for any other reason. So I bet there will be lots of RoA 1+2 Santa Clauses for those people then.
I did say anybody who wanted a copy right now. And frankly, it's GOG's gesture of generosity, not mine. It's a free gift intended for people who participate in the survey, not a tool for increasing my reputation at the expense of GOG's charity. If I want to gift it, I'll pay for it, but that's just me. :P

serpantino: ugh... GOG asking questions about Android, Kickstarter & Indie Bundle packs is worrying, it just sounds like more clutter for an already messy website. Tidy up what you've got first before you get any more toys out of the box GOG !

Plus I can't see GOG doing Android releases well when they struggle with things like DosBox on pc and setting it up is even more specific with mobile phones. Plus mobile gaming is wildly unhelpful with what works on what.
Humble Bundle is offering some games where you get both the PC and Android versions with your purchase. I felt the question about Android games was probably made more with those PC/Android indie games in mind, than trying to compete directly with GooglePlay by selling Android-only games.

Games like Anomaly Warzone Earth, Spacechem etc.

Thanks for letting us give input and the free game(s).

You guys really know how to treat your fanbase.

htown1980: thanks for the game GoG!

i do find it weird that i can't mention DRM free as being important when I buy old games or day 1 release games.

it would be nice if there was a question that allowed you to list the most important things about gog
... there were and you could.
Cool!
The only thing wrong with the survey for me was the question about which platform would you buy the game if released on iOS/android and PC.

There should have been another option. Either Other or Depends. For instance I will likely buy Baldurs Gate Enhanced Edition for the iPad rather than PC or Mac because I think it would be best suited for that device. Likewise say Broken Sword or Monkey Island

Yeah but those Humble Bundles are usually awful with little to no information about what devices they will work on (and if they do have the info it's usually a very limited set.) and some always end up being Tablet only too...

GOG's wasting enough time and resources with the Indie content so far anyhow; they'll never own a large market in it and DRM free is something most of them feature anyway (about 2/3rds of the Indie games I have on steam I can run without steam.) it's just the same stuff everyone else has and in most cases, has already had for donkeys years. Then I guess it's a quick buck for them because they don't have to do much work.

Also a lot of Android games are ending up on pc anyhow (Steam's greenlight process is flooded with Android conversions.)
Finished it, thanks for the game.

timppu: I don't... quite understand why certain questions are needed, like "do you ever buy newer games from GOG", "did you ever buy a classic $5.99 or $9.99 game" etc. Doesn't GOG have the first-hand data on what people have bought, and at which prices? Why these need to be polled too?
It's a conditional for the "what makes releases of this category appealing to you" vs. / "why don't you buy games in this category" blocks.
Thanks to GOG for asking for our opinions. :)

I had a bit of trouble with the survey though:

First, I had to allow scripts from jotfor.ms and jotformeu.com. Otherwise I wouldn't see a submit button, and one of the "type your own answer" boxes didn't respond either.

Second, the question "Have you ever bought a classic 5.99$ or 9.99$ game?" is slightly unclear. I don't think I ever paid 5.99$ or 9.99$ for a game I bought here. However, I _did_ buy lots of the classic games (during promos, for lower prices). I think that the question means in fact "Have you ever bought a classic game from GOG - by classic we mean the games that have list prices of 5.99$ or 69.99$, though prices can be lower during promos?".
About the android/iOS question: it depends on whether I can play that game comfortably with touch controls. Where's my "other" option? :S

Yet, they may still be a good selling point for those of us who have Android-devices (even tablets) capable of running them. GOG is currently at disadvantage compared to Humble Bundles, if the latter offers both the PC and Android versions in one bundle. You get the game for two different platforms for the same price, a bit like buying a PC game, and getting a free XBox360 or PS3 version of it on top of it. For some this wouldn't matter, some would be very delighted about the "free" extra version.

I think I've bought all the HB Android bundles so far, and for me the main selling point was getting the games both for PC and Android, without having to buy them twice. No regrets, besides some of the games not interesting me that much (on either PC or Android).

Just to say, all through the filling out of the survey, i was getting 'click jacking' warnings from No-script. I did manage to finish it, but either No-script was having an issue or there is some securtiy issue with the format of the survey? I had allowed both jotfor.ms and jotformeu.com as Psyringe mentions, and could enter the details fine, other than the cross-thread/click jacking alerts when filling out the larger multi-answer tables.

Oh, and is there a way to NOT get the free game (realms of arkania 1+2) as i already have them and have persuaded all my friends to get them too!

thanks.

Would've been nice to have more than one answering possibility for the question why you bought your first game. For me it was important that the games are DRM-free, have fair prices and that it was a particular classic game I wanted.

But anyway, thank you for Realms of Arkania, GOG!
