Having been a longtime patron of HumbleBundle.com, and being a staunch supporter of their "pay what you want" sales method - I have amassed a lot of quality indie games (and some quite poor ones). I have purchased all indie bundles to date, except for one.

Bundle Purchases

Humble Bundle for Android 3
Humble Bundle with Android 5
Humble Double Fine Bundle
Humble Indie Bundle
Humble Indie Bundle 11
Humble Indie Bundle 3
Humble Indie Bundle 4
Humble Indie Bundle 6
Humble Indie Bundle 7
Humble Indie Bundle 8
Humble Indie Bundle 9
Humble Indie Bundle V
Humble Indie Bundle X
Other Purchases

Humble Weekly Sale: Cipher Prime
Humble Weekly Sale: Frozenbyte
Humble Weekly Sale: Kalypso Media
Humble Weekly Sale: PopCap titles from EA

(NOTE: the weekly sale items are not DRM free - the indie bundles are tho)

That is almost exactly $100 games for about $100 (on average). The Humble Indie Bundles run under Win/Mac/Linux too. The addition of Steam keys doesn't hurt either.

There are $45+ games now on GOG.com, for A SINGLE GAME.

I find myself coming to GOG.com less and less these days.

Are there others out there who feel as I do? ...or am I just being spoiled by cross-platform, DRM Free, pay-what-you-want games?
Compare the number of $45 dollar games here to the number of them on other sites, it's a joke.

Spoiled by the bundle/sale deflation and the inderlying idea that a game is intrinsically worth $1 at max.

And how many of those bundle games have you actually played, or rather how many look good enough that you'd want to play them?

Then what are you still even doing here? not even sure to take this post serious.
So everyone just has to sell their game for under $10? come on, not to mention there are alot of games that are totally different from eachother, GOG has alot of old games that you won't see in your bundles.

It is the developers who sell out themselve when they often put their game, so fast, in a bundle to get a few bucks out of it. And you just being extremely spoiled.

Personally i rather pay "extra" for good interesting game, than just buy bazillion games for few dollars.

It is however true, that there have been quite few nice bundles, so i have amassed rather deep backlog of good games for ridiculously small price.

Still i dont think HB and GOG really compete with each other.
So putting price tags on your merchandise is selling out? Selling out to whom?

GOG has never been a pay-what-you-want outlet. You know that.
Bundles are amazing deals, sold in limited windows of time. They generate great bumps in income for developers for (mostly) back-catalog items. If you like bundles, stick with bundles. GOG does something else.

You might have missed this, but most games on GOG are quite cheap, and those that are not cheap are priced reasonably. For the most part. I was also thrilled by bundles when they started coming out, and I still buy them fairly often, but they are not the same as stores: you don't get to buy what you want, you can only buy what's available this week. The bundle people mostly do a great job curating their stuff, but you're comparing restaurants and grocery stores. They're not the same thing.

Part of it is to do with the industry delusion that once they've conditioned everyone into going digital-only, they'll be able to do away with these pesky bundles and Steam sales and perpetually charge $50 per game for years on end.

They all learn the hard way and are forced to join in with the deep-discount pricing insanity just to remain competitive.

With the exception of Age of Wonders 3.

And possibly Assassin's Creed, Heroes of Might and Magic 5 and Rollercoaster Tycoon 3.

back in the day (when it was "safe" to actually buy a PC game on disc) $50-$60 was a normal price for a game.

developing games can be an expensive affair & I would like Devs never to say the following and mean it.

"I'm sorry, <insert awesome game name> isn't getting a sequel. It simply didn't make enough money, we only sold 30 million copies."

Why are you even on here Mr Troll?
GOG Hasn't sold out at all just because they are selling games at reasonable prices

Plus you forget all the big sales that are done a LOT on here!

I got Alan Wake for like 4 bucks in a sale! Spoiled kid.

And I bet you been paying the bare minimum all the damn time for all those games too? I have paid pennies as well at times when I am broke, but I sure as hell through in more money than I need to even at regular priced rates for the games or more when I DO have money. Developers mostly do this to get the word out and to give to CHARITY. You basically are throwing coins into a Salvation Army pot and they are letting you take away the neatest looking stuff in their store for it. Now you go down to a retail store and complain they aren't as cheap as the charity shop!

Disgusting.

I'm a fan of the pay-what-you-want model, but I don't think that stores should sell at low prices all the time. Bundles don't do that either, they are limited time only. GOG does sell games for very low prices, I bought System Shock 2 for $1.49, for example.

I'd love to see some place implement a limited pay-what-you-want model, though. I had hoped that Humble Bundle would do that with their store, but they didn't. I'm not only talking about the total price, but an ability to decide how much the store, devs and charity will get, within a certain range.
