Glider_of_chaos: Hint. Judging from possible classic prices (6$ = 200rub, 10$ = 350 rub) Russian prices are not that different.
avatar
blotunga: No.. for the classics indeed the price difference is not that large, and is acceptable. Though I would've still preferred USD as the exchange fees are smaller than for euros. On the other hand for "regionally priced" titles the differences are pretty appalling. As people who make roughly as much as russians can pay up to 3 times more.
Classic prices are no doubt based on the current pricing contracts that are already there, hence the close pricing.

This is before any developers have had a chance to renegotiate any of these prices. Over time that will most likely change. For now AOW3 is the only game to have Regional pricing as a result of what the devs wanted it to be.

So basically it's time to buy the games from my wishlist as they go to sale or I might have to pay double.

I don't think they'll veer massively off what's already there, though I wouldn't be surprised to see any game that's also available on Steam to equalize regional prices for instance

There used to be a single price for all regions. People were from different regions. People got the same price.

Now there are different prices for different regions, but as long as we're all from a single region, everyone will still pay the same price :D ! Brilliant! This is the sort of lateral thinking I love...
damn i thought it was the title for the next james bond movie

Oh. Well, yeah, judging by AOW3 provides quite a difference %)

I'll be honest with you, I had no idea where your country even was (and I'm really good with geography). So I wikied you fellas up. And I really think you are exempt.

Congrats on your fairly recent independence!

Why, thank you! I tried to capture the essence of Americanized Russians*. :D

*edit: clarifying that made up word: The way Russians are stereotypically perceived by Americans (but any American who has met a Russian doesn't really think that. People tend to be mostly the same -- good, kind, welcoming folks. Except the Canadians. They're like people on crack.**)

** edit: Which is to say that they are really good, really kind and very welcoming folks.

Hello, comrades! :)

Yeah, that was kind of my thought too behind the decision to regionally price older titles. Sort of a preemptive move to mitigate potential changes in contract renegotiation.
