The Matrix came out in 1999 yet it is only now, fourteen years later, that I realized that the main character's name "Neo" is an anagram of "one" as in "the one".

Of course I feel foolish having only now seen that little tidbit but has anyone else only realized some seemingly obvious deeper meaning in a story after several viewings?
Didn't know that of Neo, I did know that matrix is also the greek word of womb maybe called so for the containers they were kept in.
Yep. All the time. Especially with Terry Pratchett's books, it's part of why I like them.

I took ages before figuring out the significance of the title of 'The Fifth Elephant', either the pun (on the fifth element) or the actual reason for it being called that. I also can't tell you how many times I read 'The witches flew along a maze of twisty little canyons, all alike" on page 48 of Witches Abroard before realising why it seemed familiar. In my defence I'm not old enough to have played the game it's referencing, but I'm sure there are many other things which I've still not spotted.
Far out, I always thought Neo was Latin for "I can't believe you actually watched this piece of shit."

I kid! It's a wonderful movie and a great trilogy. *cough*

Did you know that the Pokemon Ekans is snake spelled backwards?
And that Arbok backwards is Kobra (Cobra)? xD

I take the trilogy over anything else the Wachowski's concocted though. =/

I think I'm pissy because my brother once said it was on a par with the original Star Wars Trilogy.

Yeah.....NO.

Yeah.....NO.
I find it hard to compare the two, it is more a matter of what is more appealing.
If I had a say in it they could have ended The Matrix after the first movie as the latter two, even though they had their moments, couldn't live up to the first.
Star Wars keeps the quality more even during the whole trilogy.

As someone else who is missing the reference would you care to elaborate?
I'll let Futurama do the work for me this time.

I actually didn't mind the 3rd Matrix but for all the wrong reasons. I thought the machine guns and that whole final battle were great but I'm guessing that's not what the only thing they were hoping the audience would take away from them. :P It would be like going up to Peter Jackson and saying, "Yeah, I really like Orlando Bloom's braids."

Apparently this.
You can find it on tvtropes.org. (Yes, I am evil, muhaha)

Yeah, the fight for Zion was cool, I also liked the highway chase of Reloaded.

I saw last Hobbit movie few hours ago and I think they are one of better parts of the movie. :-p
