i would like to know if you rather buy games on sale or full price.
Full price supposedly helps the developer versus sale not so much.

Makes me always conflicted if look in my wallet and the desire to help the developer to get his share of income.

How do you guy feel about it?
Maybe i'm a bit too drunk, but them getting revenue from games they're no longer selling can only be a plus to them...

well i love sales as much as everyone else and tbh some developers dont deserve the full price they charge for the products they deliver
On special as much as possible, the bigger the discount the better. I'd love to help devs more but I really don't have the spare cash to flaunt for such ideals.
Given the volume of game buying I do (and prefer to keep doing) it is rare that I look at a game and am willing to spend more than 20$ on it. Heck, it's rare I am willing to spend more than 7.50.

As far as I'm concerned $60 is a significant amount of money, and totally unjustifiable on something as luxury class as a video game. There are a handful of personal favorites that I might have gotten that kind of mileage out of over the years, but mostly I view full price as something for people with too much money, impulse problems, or ones with questionable spending habits. I'll wait for the sale after the price drop.

Of course I too have impulse problems given that I own 4x as many games as I've played.
Whenever possible I pay full price for games on GOG. These guys have been way too good to me. Since I can afford it, I'd feel guilty paying less, and I want to make a statement with my wallet to developers and publishers that there is good money to be made here. Also, guilt from my pirating days. :)

dont we all get impulse problems during holiday sales and such? :)
Dart board and credit card, usually...
Some mistakes aside like Black Ops (1) and Diablo 3 I haven't purchased a game for full price for years. I don't see the point when a) games falls down to such low prices relatively quickly and b) I already have a bunch of unplayed games. I'm sure it's different for people who only purchase a few games a year and then make sure to play them extensively.

haha, spent way more than planned during the holiday sale, here and on steam :)
I only buy full price if it's something I need ASAP. I bought SS2 as soon as it was released here, for example.
I only buy at full price if it's going to be on sale in here 48 hours later.
At least that's the way it seems. :P

In my underwear while sitting on the couch scratching myself. I've missed quite a few sales because my credit card was across the room and I didn't feel like getting up.

If it's a DRM-Free game I am waiting for being sold on GOG, I will pay full price. If it comes out on Steam or not something I am especially excited about, I wait for the under $10 sale. I have paid full-price on Steam in the past, but after I pre-ordered for Civ5, that will likely never happen again.
My own approach

Full price - help dev - use kick starter especially those really need money reviving the true classic i.e master of magic / Dungeon Keepers etc

Discount - being wise - use GOG especially those own by publisher alone like EA etc where we know the earlier studio has dismissed and money no longer go to the dev.
