Well not really. Not yet atleast.

But the question did cross my mind when i read this column:

http://www.clarionledger.com/story/opinion/columnists/2014/06/25/coulter-growing-interest-soccer-sign-nations-moral-decay/11372137/

quote:
If more "Americans" are watching soccer today, it's only because of the demographic switch effected by Teddy Kennedy's 1965 immigration law. I promise you: No American whose great-grandfather was born here is watching soccer. One can only hope that, in addition to learning English, these new Americans will drop their soccer fetish with time.
.
.
.
And on it goes.

If i read between the writers lines, apparently "true 'murican sports" has:

-Individual achievement > team.

-Individual fame and disgrace > team effort (or lack) as whole.

-Winning & heroes > "boring ties and even matches".

-Violence/warlike > "sports" (quote: The prospect of either personal humiliation or major injury is required to count as a sport.).

-Fights not involving game rules > actually just playing the game.

-"'murican" > "foreign influence" (whatever it means).

So maybe patriotic-combat-dramaball?

I am not really into american football, soccer or even icehockey - but ohboy did that column give me something to think about. Also interesting to notice that the writer is woman. Thus making some of the comments she wrote bit surprising to me, but i suppose i can see her angle.
high rated
Oh, it's Ann Coulter. There's your explanation.
Anne Coulter is INSANE. She puts out these bullshit articles every now and then and it's gotten to the point that even the conservatives who once embraced her are now distancing themselves.

The woman is bat-shit crazy and if you don't believe me go back and read her other stuff.

Ninjad! XD

It really can't be overstated. In the States she has become kind of a laughing stock.

and apparently women are not supposed to do sports...
I was reading an article yesterday on Huffington Post about Coulter's anti-soccer rant. In fact it was an article mocking her.

Ann Coulter Reminds Us That Only Asshats Hate Soccer For No Good Reason

I never heard of the woman before, but she is "amazing"!

Ann Coulter serves a fringe. Don't pay her any attention.

The thing that bothers me, and I don't really see that happening in here, is that people outside the U.S. are going to pick this up and think, "Oh, so that's America."

EVERYONE has a screwed up relative in their family. We stick them in the corner, give them their pudding, and ignore them because while they are annoying they are also more or less harmless. I urge the rest of the world, please do not judge us based on our screwed up relatives. :D
I'm no soccerfan either. Does this make me an American?

Oh and elect them for presidency every now and then... But, yeah.

Tip:

A) Put the pudding in closet

B) Wait for her to step inside the closet.

C) Close the closet door and lock it.

D) Throw the closet key to either Atlantic or Pacific. Ill promise to take the responsibility for whatever environmental damage this may cause.

E) Do not throw the closet to any ocean: We dont want to actually pollute the oceans nor do we want the closet to float outside US.

Thank you for understanding.

Freedom of speech sucks, don't worry too much about the reputation of your country, we have those people over here too.

I know what you mean. I'm no fan of that word either. It should be "football" or "association football".

That's actually not too far from the truth. Oh I'm not fucking nuts like Anne (or for that matter ridiculed) but I do tend to be perceived as the "odd" one on the family tree. XD
