While I can certainly accept that there is not a lot of BSS(building-survival-sandbox, or just minecraft-like) games here, it really baffles me that there is not even one. The genre is fairly new after all, as it just started up after Minecraft's huge success. Is there even one game like that that the dev has said will/may come to GOG besides Redigit, who doesn't want to release the game here for... well, reasons? While I'm not saying "MINECRAFTLIKE NOW OR GTFO," as being a large fan of the genre, seeing not one pop up here or have any real promise of coming here does feel a little disappointing.

Um, Don't Starve? Or do you mean something that's a little less rogue-like?

'Question:

Though this is sort of off topic, but after playing GTA 5 I really wish a Open World Crime Simulator (empahsis on simulator) where they make it mor realistic like whatever crime you do there are concequences and the police will issue investigations after you get away with a crime.

Funny thing you should say that...

I've actually been thinking about making this thread for a while now but I always thought "Nah, the reason there's no Minecraftlikes on GOG is because those are the kind of games that may take other people to enjoy more, such as posting buildings and accomplishments in pictures and videos alongside playing with others." As I started to really think about it, I started to think that Don't Starve may be an okay fit of this bill. I soon realized I was wrong, or at least I thought so.

Don't Starve fits the survival-sandbox part, but not the building part. I can't dig to the center of the earth, make a house and a living down there, come back up, ascend into the skies by making a huge "nerd pole" and then quickly make a platform that shall serve as a foundation of a huge network of sky buildings and towers, and then go back down to the surface to build cities and establishments, as well as forging new and amazing weapons and armor and all sorts of other things, and customizing my character with enchanted and modified bows and swords and such, and go on a quest to kill a boss and build a statue of myself where he died, and return to the surface to expand my cities and sky buildings and then lay TNT all over it and watch everything blow up, and then start anew where great towers and houses and other things' ashes lay. TL;DR stuff you can't do in Don't Starve :D

I laughed at that! Probably a good thing I work from home instead if in an office now.

I don't know. I'm not the best person to ask though... Licurg would be better as he knows all the weird games on GG nobody ever played! ;)

Shopping for presents!
This is just a guess, but it could be due to the fact that a lot of those games have a heavy online multiplayer component. GOG doesn't have any dedicated online solution, which may make Steam a more natural fit for a lot of those games.

Then again, I guess you could make the counterpoint that at least some of them are available through Desura.

And I am glad we are being really helpful to Supereor.

Although if he plays the forums he has his BSS game.

Building - Rep!
Survival - Not getting flamed for something!
Sandbox - More like quicksand... once your in the more you struggle the harder it can be to get out!

Sausage!
There's a chance Starbound could appear here, but that could only happen when the game comes out of beta at the earliest.
