SCPM: There's a chance Starbound could appear here, but that could only happen when the game comes out of beta at the earliest.
I knew about that. I think I will be putting it in the "waiting to release on GOG when done" list along with Planetary Annihilation :P

Was actually going to mention Starbound. So....

Starbound!!!

Yeah want it here...
We should ask if CD Projekt RED could make WitcherCraft! You know, like Minecraft, but the Witcher!
...
Anyone? Anybody there? Ok...

ggf162: Um, Don't Starve? Or do you mean something that's a little less rogue-like?

Supereor: Funny thing you should say that...

I've actually been thinking about making this thread for a while now but I always thought "Nah, the reason there's no Minecraftlikes on GOG is because those are the kind of games that may take other people to enjoy more, such as posting buildings and accomplishments in pictures and videos alongside playing with others." As I started to really think about it, I started to think that Don't Starve may be an okay fit of this bill. I soon realized I was wrong, or at least I thought so.

Don't Starve fits the survival-sandbox part, but not the building part. I can't dig to the center of the earth, make a house and a living down there, come back up, ascend into the skies by making a huge "nerd pole" and then quickly make a platform that shall serve as a foundation of a huge network of sky buildings and towers, and then go back down to the surface to build cities and establishments, as well as forging new and amazing weapons and armor and all sorts of other things, and customizing my character with enchanted and modified bows and swords and such, and go on a quest to kill a boss and build a statue of myself where he died, and return to the surface to expand my cities and sky buildings and then lay TNT all over it and watch everything blow up, and then start anew where great towers and houses and other things' ashes lay. TL;DR stuff you can't do in Don't Starve :D
You can't?

I just went down the the center of the earth -- ok, maybe it was only in a cave, but it sure seemed like the center of the earth -- and built a base.

Not so sure yet about the ascending the skies part -- maybe that's the next update :)
Are there even that many games out there that fit the OPs exact description? It seems don't starve isn't enough, so aside from minecraft, which i doubt will ever get sold outside of its own website, what else even fits the bill?

Although to a certain extent each, I believe these games do:
Minecraft, of course
Terraria
Starbound
StarForge
I did say "Of course, the genre is just starting, so there's not going to be a lot."

Or I'm just a very picky person. I'm willing to bet money it's the latter.
